Abstract:
A hinge assembly has a pintle, a rotating bracket, a sliding bracket, a mounting bracket, a compression assembly and an elastic member. The rotating bracket is mounted rotatably around the shaft and has a latching portion. The sliding bracket is attached securely to the pintle and has a track. The mounting bracket and a latching arm. The latching arm selectively presses against the latching portion to hold the hinge closed. The compression assembly is mounted around and expands when the pintle is rotated to close. The elastic member is compressed by expansion of the compression assembly so automatically rotates the pintle to open. Therefore, with the hinge mounted in an electronic device, when the latching portion is slid out of the latching arm, the hinge is forced to open by the elastic member and compression assembly so a cover pops up and is opened easily.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to the field of environmentally sealed casings for protection of electronic or other devices. More particularly, the present invention relates to enclosures for protecting LCD panels from the harsh environments in which they are sometimes used. In an embodiment, the present invention provides a harsh environment LCD enclosure comprising: a casing with an interior for protecting an LCD panel; a door for accessing the interior of the casing; a compression gasket assembly for sealing together the door and casing; an actuator for opening and closing the door; and a hinge assembly disposed entirely within the interior of the casing and operably configured to provide for rotational and linear movement of the door relative to the casing.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a novel hinge device having extremely high product value, and to provide an electronic device that utilizes this hinge device. The hinge device for rotatably linking a first member (1) and a second member (2) has a first pivoting mount (4) provided to the first member (1), and a second pivoting mount (6) provided to the second member (2) and linked with the first pivoting mount (4) so that relative rotation is possible via a shaft part (5). A stop piece (9) for pressing against and locking onto a protrusion (8) provided to one of the first pivoting mount (4) and the second pivoting mount (6) is provided to the other pivoting mount to block over-rotation at a designated relative rotational position between the first pivoting mount (4) and the second pivoting mount (6).
Abstract:
A hinge for a clamshell-type phone includes first and second hinge sections with cooperative anti-skewing features to prevent skewing of the hinge in the open and/or closed positions. The first hinge section includes at least one anti-skew tab extending normal to the pivot axis of the hinge and a second hinge section includes at least one U-shaped anti-skew member to engage the anti-skew tab on the first hinge section in an open or closed position.
Abstract:
A pivotal device for a hinged cover comprises a securing plate, a driven plate, a plurality of urging elements and a rotating shaft characterized in that a plate face formed from stacking the securing plate and the driven plate is provided with a cam block at the center thereof, the center of the plate face is provided with shaft hole allowing the insertion of the rotating shaft so as to mount the plate center of the securing plate and the driven plate, the external surrounding of the plate face is evenly mounted with a plurality of vertically extended urging elements having a thickness thinner than that of the cam block, the two lateral wall of a container having pivotal points are provided with an engaging hole for engaging with the cam block of the securing plate and the container having a lifting cover provided with two lateral wall corresponding to the urging element are provided with a mounting hole, and the pivot point at the two lateral wall of the lifting cover are provided with an engaging hole for mounting with cam block of the driven plate, the two lateral wall of the lifting cover corresponding to the urging element of the driven plate is provided with a mounting hole for closely mounting of the urging element.
Abstract:
A foldable portable information terminal includes an upper unit having a display unit on its one side, a lower unit having operation keys on its one side, and a movable connecting mechanism connecting the upper unit and the lower unit allowing the upper unit to be opened, closed, and freely rotated with respect to a longitudinal direction of the lower unit. The displaying mode of the display unit whose direction varies depending on a position of the upper unit is changed depending on a positional relationship of the upper unit and the lower unit.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the field of hinges, and specifically, to seat hinges of the type used for foldable boat seats. A hinge including two seat cushion supporting members and a back plate is taught. One supporting member has a peripheral recess facing outwardly relative to a pivot pin and forms a generally u-shaped area. Laterally spaced-apart abutment surfaces extend angularly from the u-shaped area. The other supporting member is provided with an upstanding protuberance which cooperates with the abutments to limit the hinge between its fully closed and fully opened positions.
Abstract:
A casement window hinge comprising a toggle hinge assembly slidably received within a laterally symmetrical track. The hinge assembly includes an end block having a sloped upper surface. The ends of the track are notched to assist in alignment of the hinge assembly for insertion into the track.
Abstract:
A bookmark and page holding device is provided for automatically holding and marking a page of a book. A spring clip attaches the bookmark to the rear cover of a book. A spring-loaded swing arm is pivotally attached to the spring clip at one end and has a page holder plate pivotally attached to the other end. As the book page is turned, the page holder plate pivots up and away from the page, allowing the page holder plate to return to the next page under the action of the spring-loaded swing arm. In one embodiment, the page holder has an arcuate, inwardly curving edge for engaging the edge of the turned page to facilitate its use with lightweight paper. The page holder plate marks the last page being read when the book is closed as well as when opened.
Abstract:
A selectively pivotal hinge including first and second hinge elements pivotally connected together about a pivot point. The inner portion of the first hinge element is formed into a circular dial disk having a plurality of spaced transverse peripheral apertures adjacent its periphery and having a transverse central aperture at the hinge pivot point. A stem is slidably disposed in the central aperture. A biasing element in the form of a coiled spring contacts the first hinge element and the stem to bias the stem toward the disk. The second hinge element has an abutment which projects toward the hinge pivot point and is disposed below the disk. Two radial dial arms are rotatably secured to the stem at one longitudinal point thereon for circumferential rotation on the stem. The arms extend radially outwardly over the disk peripheral apertures. The arms have transverse arm pins thereon extending transversely from the arms for selective placement into selected of the peripheral apertures and are adapted to abut against the abutment on the second hinge element, whereby when the stem and arms are raised outwardly in the central aperture, the arms may be circumferentially rotated on the stem enabling the pins to be placed in preselected disk peripheral apertures to thus abut the abutment and limit pivotal movement of the hinge.
