    摘要: A pipe joint assembly comprises a ring-like insert disposed on the spigot of one pipe section and a ring-like insert disposed in the socket of an adjacent pipe section. The inserts include ribs for inhibiting the accumulation of material within grooved portions of the inserts during fabrication of the pipe sections, and for resisting the leakage of fluid between the inserts and the pipe section. A gasket is disposed within the grooved portions of the inserts to couple and seal the pipe sections. The gasket is uniquely configured to provide maximum sealing, and includes shoulder portions which enhance sealing, as well as maintain the gasket in position during interengagement of the pipe sections.

    摘要: Conduit sections are disclosed for forming pipe lines. Sections have preformed core members of variable shapes and wall thicknesses and cast-in-place concrete components formed selectively on external surfaces and bonded to the core by mechanical and/or chemical means, thereby forming an integral structure. The chemical bonding utilizes adhesives and the like to secure the outer component on core surfaces while the mechanical bonding may utilize various structural shapes to secure the outer component to the inner core. A narrow trenchlike form in selected contours and dimensions may be utilized as a side and bottom forming member into which concrete or other plastic mix is placed before it is cured. Preferably only slight clearance is provided between the core and the trench sides to allow placement and consolidation of the concrete mix. Components of variable thicknesses may be so formed, thereby providing greatest strength in areas where maximum support of the load is required.

    摘要: Non-metallic, disposable rings are employed in the forming of a groove in the spigot portion of concrete pipe sections. This disposable ring is attached to either the header or the pallet section of a pipe-making form in proper position to form the desired groove in the spigot portion of the concrete pipe section during the making of the concrete pipe section. The ring is made of any rigid, non-metallic disposable material capable of resisting heat, water, alkali and steam. The disposable ring may be left in place when the header and pallet sections of the form are removed from the partially cured pipe. The ring may be removed from the pipe section some time after the pipe section has properly cured, preferably at the time the pipe section is to be used. The possibility of damage to the groove may thus be reduced or eliminated, and the groove may be kept free of dirt and other foreign matter until the pipe section is actually employed during the installation of a line of concrete pipe.
