Furthermore, the construction comprises a tubular link (14) with a body of a flexible material, which the tubular link is arranged to provide communication between the first (5) and second (11) ducts, thereby providing an uninterrupted duct from the first end to the fourth end.

    摘要: A wet well design that utilizes recycled material in sectional components to construct wet wells on site is disclosed. Traditional wet well components are made of pre-cast concrete. Green Recycled Material Component Wet Well components are constructed using recycled plastic, recycled steel and recycled Styrofoam. The method described herein for constructing the components and assembling the wet well on site addresses several logistical problems associated with the pre-cast concrete design including reducing project start to completion time, delivery costs, large crane rental costs and power line relocation costs. This design also enables construction of oblong wet wells in medians and other restricted areas as components can be straight or curved sections. Finally, this design eliminates the shifting of traditional cement well components due to uplift from underground water pressure through the use of a new anchoring system. Shifting can result in groundwater intrusion into the well.

    摘要: An apparatus for joining precast concrete units. A precast concrete unit, such as a section of pipe, decking and pavement includes a plurality of spaced, longitudinally aligned tubular members. The ends of each concrete unit are flush and are bounded by rounded edges to prevent chipping. The ends of the tubular members are flush with the end of the concrete unit. When two of such units are to be joined together, a guide member is inserted in one end of each tubular member on one concrete unit while an internally threaded insert member is inserted into each end of the tubular member in a second concrete unit. The guide members and insert members have axial apertures with the aperture in the insert member being internally threaded. The two precast concrete units are brought together so that the guide member on one concrete unit enters into the ends of the tubular members containing the inserts in the second concrete unit. A bolt is passed through each guide member and is threaded into the internally threaded aperture in the insert member. The bolts are tightened to join the two precast concrete units together. A resilient gasket can be cast into one end of a concrete unit when it is formed or can be inserted into a groove which is formed in a face of a precast concrete unit at the time it is formed. The gasket used in the groove is U-shaped and a resilient cord is inserted to the bottom of the groove to spread the sides of the gasket to securely lock it in place in the groove. The method of assembling precast concrete units is also disclosed.

The reinforcing material consists essentially of an elongated product of a synthetic resin having protrusions on its surface and which was obtained by extruding and subsequent stretching. The method comprises mixing a polyethylene having a melt index of not more than 0.01 at 190.degree. C. under the load of 2.16 Kg with a polyethylene having a melt index of more than 0.01 thereby to obtain a polyethylene mixture having a melt index of 0.01 to 10, melt-extruding the polyethylene mixture under such conditions as to give an extruded product having a jagged surface and stretching the extruded product, whereby the reinforcing material having protrusions on its surface is obtained. Hydraulic substances with the reinforcing material incorporated therein is useful for production of concrete panel, concrete pipe, concrete channel, tetrapod, sleeper, tunnel, etc.

    摘要: A pipe of concrete, cement mortar or other cementitious material is formed by an integrally cast cementitious mass which is reinforced with a glass fibre strand or roving forming a substantially helical winding extending around the pipe and incorporated in the cement matrix of the cementitious mass. Preferably there are two windings, one incorporated in the outer periphery of the mass and the other incorporated in the inner periphery of the mass. The pipe is preferably made by a centrifugal casting operation in which a centrifugal casting mould is rotated and the glass fibre strand or roving is fed from a feeding device within the mould and is caused to adhere to the internal peripheral face of the mould and then the feeding device is moved axially along the mould as the mould rotates so that the winding is formed from the roving around the internal peripheral face of the mould. The concrete or other cementitious material is introduced into the mould at the same time as the glass fibre roving or subsequently and the winding becomes incorporated in the cement matrix of the cementitious material as the mould continues to be rotated.
