The method comprises receiving, by a network component, from the device, an access request and an encryption key; sending, by the network component, to the device, a request for at least one of current information associated with the device and an identification number associated with the device; receiving, by the network component, a response from the device; comparing, by the network component, the response with a known version of the at least one of current information associated with the device and identification number associated with the device; and determining, by the network component, that the device has passed an authenticity test when at least one of: current information included in the response matches the known version of the current information, and the identification number included in the response matches the known version of the identification number.

    摘要: A technique for securely transferring content from a first device in a first layer to a second device in a second layer. In one embodiment, the first device is a device in a trusted domain and the second device is outside of the trusted domain. Transfer of protected content to another device may require authentication of the receiving device. A rights file which specifies the rights of the receiving device to use the protected content, according to its security level is also transferred. These rights may concern, e.g., the number of times the receiving device may transfer the protected content to other devices, the time period within which the receiving device may play the protected content, etc. The higher the security level of the receiving device, the more rights accorded thereto. A minimum security level requirement may be imposed in order for protected content to be transferred to a device.

    摘要: The present invention particularly relates to a digital content providing service method and a content execution device for the same, for maximizing user convenience and maintaining a sufficient level of security using a smart card. The inventive content execution device includes an independent authentication unit for storing a tool necessary for executing content; an authentication support module for providing a data communication channel between the smart card and an external broadcasting server; a tool agent for calling the tool stored in the independent authentication unit; and a content execution unit for executing content data received from the external broadcasting server. The content execution device included in a content authority management system of the present invention employs the smart card for user authentication and/or content playing tool management. Accordingly, a user can freely executing his/her licensed content in different content execution devices by conveniently removing and reinserting the smart card, without separate measures. Moreover, according to the present invention, a user can effectively use content from different broadcasters.

    摘要: At a seller, an encryption device encrypts content data stored in a content server using an encryption key generated by an encryption key generation device, and records the encrypted content data and a communication program on a recording medium. A paper indicating an identification code unique to each recording medium is attached to the recording medium. A decryption key corresponding to the encryption key and the identification code are registered in a managing database. A user terminal sends the identification code to a decryption key managing server apparatus via Internet in accordance with the communication program, in a case where the user terminal is to copy or install or reproduce the content data stored on the recording medium. The decryption key managing server apparatus sends a decryption key corresponding to this identification code to the user terminal. The user terminal decrypts the content data using the decryption key sent thereto.
