    摘要: A wood pulping process includes producing weak black liquor and cooling the liquor as well as recovering heat therefrom by directing the weak black liquor through a spray film evaporator. A feed or condensate is directed into the spray film evaporator and the feed or condensate is sprayed onto the outer surfaces of a bundle of tubes. This results in the feed or the condensate being vaporized and producing a vapor that can be utilized as a heat source for other processes in a pulp mill.

    摘要: An arrangement is disclosed for supplying an air jet form to the furnace of a recovery boiler, where the furnace has a front wall, a rear wall and side walls. Black liquor spraying devices are disposed on the furnace walls at one or several levels of the furnace. A plurality of air ports are located at several horizontal levels for introducing air into the furnace from an air supply. In the arrangement for the secondary air flows, two horizontal air levels at different elevations are arranged above the lower primary levels and below the black liquor sprayer. Secondary air is supplied from two opposite walls and the air ports from each of the two levels are located so that the air jets are introduced in an interlaced pattern having an even number of jets on one opposite wall and an uneven number of jets on the other opposite wall. The air jets of said at least two air levels are located substantially one above each other in substantially vertical rows.

It is preferred that the gas flow is turbulent and the liquid flow is laminar when contacted with one another. The apparatus comprises a container (1) having a gas inlet (2), a gas outlet (4), and a packing (9) arranged in several successive stages (6, 7, 8). The apparatus has means (25) for supplying a carbonate-containing solution to the last stage and through this stage countercurrently to the gas, and for recycling the solution across this stage; conduits (29, 30) arranged between the stages for supplying a partial flow of the solution from one stage to a preceding stage; means (26, 27, 28) for supplying a hydroxide to the carbonate-containing solution in at least one of the stages (6, 7, 8); and an outlet conduit (31) from the first stage, as seen in the feed direction of the gas, for discharging a sulphide-containing liquid.

    摘要: Steam (preferably clean steam) having less noncondensible gases than steam produced by conventional black liquor flashing is produced from hot black liquor from a digester of a pulp mill. A heat exchanger is utilized and the hot black liquor is passed through the heat exchanger in heat exchange contact with an evaporable liquid, preferably clean water. After the water is heated in the heat exchanger it is flashed in at least one flash tank where the heat exchanger is a liquid-to-liquid heat exchanger. The heat exchanger may alternatively include an evaporator (such as a falling film evaporator) in which case the black liquor is passed through an inductor before it enters the evaporator. Alternatively, the heat exchanger may be one or more boilers, such as kettle boilers, in which case the black liquor preferably passes through a cooler after the boilers. Heat energy and turpentine recovery are also maximized.

The plant has at least one inlet to the absorber (1) for supply of concentrated chemical solution, at least one inlet to the absorber (1) for supply of vapor, and at least one outlet from the absorber for withdrawal of a diluted chemical solution obtained through condensation of vapor and the chemical solution in the absorber (1).
