摘要: A pre-pressurized in-line skate wheel including a hard polyurethane hub having a drop center formed between radially projecting guide flanges formed with axially projecting windows as spaced equidistant thereabout in an annular array. A bladder device includes a plurality of pressurized hollow cross rods nested at their opposite ends in such windows and surmounting on their radially outward sides a pressurized annular tube arranged concentric with the drop center. A soft polyurethane wheel body is formed in such drop center and projects radially outwardly to encapsulate the annular tube and form an elliptical annular tread surface. The method of manufacturing the tire includes blow molding the cross rods and the annular tube and pressurizing them to the desired individual pressures so that the resultant tire will exhibit the combined benefits of polyurethane cushioning and shock absorption associated with compressible gases.

摘要: A pneumatic in-line skating wheel having a tire body and central hub chemically bonded during a polyurethane casting process and further including an annularly encapsulated air bladder centrally spaced within the tire body to provide shock absorption. The bladder in one embodiment is in communication with a valve for inflation and deflation thereof such that the overall tire resiliency may be adjusted, enabling adjustable performance characteristics of the wheel. One embodiment of the valve incorporates a resilient core within a rigid barrel and stretchable to allow an inflation needle to stretch the core and drive a poppet off a seat at the interior end of the barrel.

Shifting the body weight right, the steering cushion mechanism will cause the rollers to curve to the right; shifting the body weight left, the steering cushion mechanism will cause the rollers to the curve to the left. The brake wheel uses the clamping force to brake the skate to stop. The brake wheel can serve as both wheel and brake.

The rocker arm is mechanically activated so that the skater need not perform any special body movement so as to raise (or lower) the toe of the skate. Accordingly, the angle of the skate relative to the ground remains constant while the brake is applied.

摘要: An in-line roller skate includes a frame having a pair of parallel, spaced side rails. At least one and, preferably, a plurality of ball rollers are mounted in the frame between the forward and rearward ends of the frame. Each ball roller is mounted to the frame for unidirectional movement by a base attached to the frame. A concave bed is formed in the base and is substantially covered by a plurality of rotatable bearings. A cap having a central aperture in an end wall is secured to the base and encloses the bearings and the ball roller, with a portion of the ball roller extending through the central aperture in the cap. In another embodiment, an axle is centrally located in the frame and extends perpendicularly through the side rails and rotatably supports a cylindrical wheel thereon. Ball rollers are mounted forward and rearward of the wheel depending on the location of the wheel in the frame. The frame is fixedly attached to a boot of a sole member with a plurality of straps with closures mounted on the sole member for releasably attaching the sole and the frame to a foot of a user.

摘要: A skateboard device may include a frame, a set of wheels, and a deck. A user or rider may stand on the deck. The deck may be divided into a front panel and a rear panel, on which the user may rest a front foot and a rear foot, respectively. The rear panel may be fixed relative to the frame. The front panel, in turn, may pivot sideways relative to the frame and, in pivoting sideways, may drive a front wheel fork for rotation in order to steer one or more front wheels of the set of wheels left or right. In some embodiments, the skateboard device may include relatively wide, convex, single front and rear wheels facilitating riding the skateboard device not only on hard, flat surfaces but also on other terrains such as, but not limited to, dirt, gravel, etc.
