    摘要: Trains approaching the junction switch for two converging rail lines are detected by separate approach relays which repeat one or more track sections along each approach line. Each approach relay is reset when the train from the corresponding branch, as designated by switch correspondence relays, occupies the switch detector track section. The approach relays control the position of a magnetic stick sequencing relay. The reset of each approach relay by switch section occupancy assures the alternate positioning of the sequencing relay when successive trains simultaneously approach on both branches. The sequencing relay position selects a corresponding interlocking route relay which prepares and initiates the establishment of the route over the junction switch for the next train. Since the sequencing relay alternately operates to each of its positions, the route relays are alternately selected and trains thus alternately move from each approach branch line into the single track.

    摘要: An oncoming train alarm assembly for a railroad track includes a housing that defines an interior space. The housing is positioned on a first side of a railroad track. A power module and a microprocessor are coupled to the housing and positioned in the interior space. The microprocessor is operationally coupled to the power module. A transmitter and a speaker are coupled to the housing and operationally coupled to the microprocessor. The microprocessor is positioned to command the transmitter to transmit a photoelectric beam. A receiver is positioned on a second side of the railroad track. The receiver is operationally coupled to the microprocessor and aligned with the transmitter. The receiver is positioned to detect the photoelectric beam and to signal the microprocessor in event of a blocking of the photoelectric beam, positioning the microprocessor to actuate the speaker to sound an alarm to warn persons of an oncoming train.

    摘要: Driverless vehicles move in one direction along elongated, lengthwise adjacent radiators that are energized with command signals to which the vehicles respond. The radiators are grouped in lengthwise adjacent blocks. A radiator just in front of each block boundary and another just behind it are energizable alternatively through a bistable switch device. A vehicle crossing a block boundary generates a control signal which actuates the switch device for that boundary, transferring energization from the radiator just behind the boundary to the one just ahead of it, so the vehicle can advance into the block in front of the boundary. Boundary crossing also actuates the switch device for the boundary behind the vehicle, to enable a following vehicle to approach the block the first vehicle is leaving.

    摘要: A vehicle to be detected is moved along a track divided into a plurality of sections, with a boundary between each adjacent pairs of sections. A radiant energy transmitter is situated at one side of the track at each such boundary, and a radiant energy receiver is situated on the other side of the track for receiving the transmitted radiant energy. The passing of a train through a boundary blocks the transmission of the radiant energy from the transmitter to the latter receiver. A radio (high frequency) signal receiving means is situated at each boundary adjacent the radiant energy receiver, for receiving a radio signal from a train carried antenna each time a train passes the boundary. In response to the sensing of radiant energy at a given boundary, concurrent with the reception of a radio signal from a given train passing the succeeding boundary, a signal is generated for controlling the speed of another train in at least the section preceding the given boundary.
