摘要: A thermal insulation system includes two separate components for providing protection against both thermal and radiative conduction of energy, is easily installed, capable of easily fitting multiple substrate diameters, space-saving and lightweight, and durable. The system comprises an inner layer of heat shrink foam and an outer layer of reflective material. In the preferred embodiment, the outer layer of reflective material is heat shrink metalized material which has been recovered using known techniques onto the inner layer of heat shrink insulative material. One application for this system is for the insulation of vehicle brake fluid lines.

摘要: A large round baler is equipped with a net wrapping mechanism for wrapping a bale with net material that is wider that the width of the baling chamber so that the net material extends over the opposite ends of the bale. The baler has a baling chamber defined in part by a plurality of bale-forming belts mounted in side-by-side relationship on a plurality of belt support rolls extending between opposite sidewalls of the baling chamber. The net material is fed beneath the discharge gate of the baler to a crop inlet located between a lower front belt support roll carried by the discharge gate, the net being carried into the baling chamber by a fore-and-aft runs of the belts that extend between a lower rear and the lower front belt support roll, and carry the net along a guide surface defined by a plurality of channel members respectively located beneath the fore-and-aft runs of the belts. In order to ensure that the net material arrives at the baling chamber at width greater than that of the baling chamber, spiral rings are mounted at opposite ends of the lower rear belt support roll and spreader rings are mounted at the opposite ends of the lower front belt support rolls, the spiral rings being located outboard relative to the spreader rings, with a major portion of the spreader rings being located outboard of the opposite sidewalls of the baling chamber. In order to keep rogue or stray crop stems from interfering with the net material so as to prevent it from being spread to its full length and fed, shielding is provided inside the baling chamber at a location above the lower rear roll. Wrap around shields are provided to shield the spreader rings from crop that is delivered into the baling chamber and various other structures are provided for preventing the accumulation of rogue or stray crop in the vicinity of the spreader rings and other areas in the path of net travel.

摘要: A new and improved film wrapping or packaging machine has incorporated therein a new and improved mechanism or system for implementing the downward folding of outwardly projecting edge or tab portions of slip sheets interposed between successive tiers, levels, or layers of articles or goods forming a palletized load. The folding mechanism or system comprises a plurality of vertically oriented posts which are initially disposed above the outwardly projecting tab portions, subsequently independently aligned with outer edge portions of the outwardly projecting tab portions of the slip sheets, and thereafter lowered so as engage the tab portions of the slip sheets and fold the same vertically downwardly against the vertical sides of the palletized load such that the downwardly folded tab portions can now be enveloped within the wrapping or packaging film. As the wrapping or packaging film constantly envelops the downwardly folded tab portions, the vertically oriented posts are being moved upwardly so as to constantly be released from their engagement positions with the tab portions until the wrapping or packaging operation or cycle is completed. The film wrapping carriage and the vertically oriented posts are then moved to uppermost positions in preparation for the start of a new wrapping or packaging cycle.

摘要: A system and method for severing a portion of a wrapping film for facilitating the detachment and attachment of trailing and leading end portions of the wrapping film from and onto loads disposed at a wrapping station in conjunction with film wrapping operations being performed upon loads being wrapped at a wrapping station comprises an actuating arm movable between retracted and extended positions and upon which a fixed clamping member and a movable clamping member are mounted such that the movable clamping member can move toward and away from the fixed clamping member so as to define therewith CLOSED and OPENED positions. Upon termination of a wrapping operation, the actuating arm is moved from its retracted position to its extended position, the clamping members are moved to their CLOSED position so as to clamp a portion of the wrapping film therebetween, and a hot-wire cutter is energized so as to sever a portion of the clamped film. A trailing end portion of the wrapping film is thus released for self-adherence to the wrapped load, while a leading end portion of the wrapping film is maintained clamped between the clamping members in preparation for self-adherence to a new load to be wrapped. When wrapping of the new load is commenced, the movable clamping member is moved to its OPENED position such that the clamped leading end portion of the wrapping film is released for self-adherence to the new load to be wrapped, and the actuating arm is returned to its retracted position.

摘要: A label film applicator mechanism which is integrally incorporated into the overall stretch wrap film applicator system so as to be located at the same wrapping station as that of the stretch wrap film mechanism whereby the stretch wrap film can be applied to or wrapped upon, for example, the palletized load independent of the label film, however, the stretch wrap film and the label film can also be simultaneously applied to or wrapped upon, for example, the palletized load when it is desired to apply a label film to, for example, the palletized load during a predetermined portion of the stretch wrap film load wrapping cycle.

摘要: The envelope (100) has an additional flap (103) extending externally by superposition, being connected to the main portion (101) via two parallel lines of heat sealing (102, 105). According to the invention, the additional flap (103) has a reinforcing strip (106) applied thereto and at least one cutout (110) is formed therein to define the outline of a pull tongue (114). The cutout (110) extends beyond the reinforcing strip (106) in the form of two slots (113) formed through the wall of the flap and forming tear starters. The flap also has a line of perforations (104) extending parallel to the direction of the reinforcing strip (106) and at a distance therefrom, so as to enable the panel which is obtained by tearing the corresponding portion of said flap to be detached.

摘要: The method relates to a method for packing articles and/or objects. Articles are packed in an elastic packing material (2) and the elastic packing material is stretched during the packing process. To achieve this, the packing material is arranged in a receptacle (1) in which a partial vacuum is produced. The packing material is stretched due to the pressure that the outside air exerts upon it. The item that is to be packed is then placed in or on the packing material. Once the vacuum has been removed, the packing material automatically reverts back to its original position by virtue of its own elasticity and is applied to the packing items. The invention also relates to a device to carry out such a method.

摘要: A base plate for a package to inhibit an object's inadvertent displacement when the plate and object are positioned within a shipping container. The plate is composed of a rectangular sheet of paperboard or sheet form material folded at least once, and preferably twice, both horizontally and vertically to form multiple sheets in superimposed, overlapping relation thereby creating a support or base plate. A longitudinally extending separation in the upper of the sheet form supports include a plurality of separations extending from opposite edges of the longitudinal separation to form cantilevered tabs extending from opposite sides of the separation. A recess in the lower sheet form support underlying the longitudinally extending separation permits deflection of the tabs into the recess when an object, such as a motor, is placed thereon to thereby partially capture, cradle and cushion the object upon the support plate. The package is formed by shrink wrapping the motor and the base plate and placing the same into a shipping container.

摘要: Each of side grippers that function as a film gripper includes upper and lower openable clampers. These clampers are designed to hold an edge portion of a film, and are opened after film packaging is completed. At least one film contact member, out of two film contact members that are attached individually to the upper and lower clampers, is formed of a cowhide, a material having a property such that a frictional force between the contact member and the film increases to and stays at a certain level as the humidity around the film rises. With use of the film contact member made of the hide, the film gripping force can be restrained from decreasing and the film-releasability can be improved despite the increase of the humidity.
