    摘要: A hyperbranched polyetherketone and a heat-resistant blend of polyvinylchloride with the same. The polyetherketone is synthesized by self-polycondensation of 3,5-bis[4-[(2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorophenyl)carbonyl]phenoxy]-4-hydroxybenzophenone or 3,5-difluoro-4-hydroxybenzophenone, and then substituting 50 to 80 mole % of fluorine atoms present in the side chains and ends of the PEK molecule by polar groups. In addition, a blend of polyvinylchloride can be manufactured using the hyperbranched polyetherketone by a melt blending technique applicable for industrial purpose at a temperature of 180 to 120° C., and thus the blend of polyvinylchloride with the polyetherketone can be applied to high temperature end-use products such as hot water pipes.

    摘要: Flexible PVC hose can be used with toilet systems in vehicles, such as boats, recreational vehicles, etc, or at pumpout stations. The hose includes about 40-55% by weight PVC resin, and at least 10% by weight of an EVA high molecular weight plasticizer. The hose also typically includes a low molecular weight plasticizer, stabilizer, lubricant, filler (such as 5-20% by weight dense filler like calcium carbonate), and pigment. The hose typically will not fail (that is will not transmit odor) for the life of the toilet system, or mechanical life of the hose.

Samples of the resin are prepared that have different molecular weight distributions. Articles are made from the samples and the gloss of the articles is measured. The relationship between the molecular weight distributions of the samples and the gloss of the articles made therefrom is determined. From that relationship, an article is made from a resin selected such that its molecular weight distribution corresponds to the predetermined amount of gloss.

    摘要: A synthetic resin powder having improved powder characteristics such as granulation property and blocking resistance, which is obtained by coagulating a latex of an MBS resin satisfying the following relational equations (1) and (2): −1.5x+140≦y≦−1.65x+180  (1) 55≦x≦70  (2) wherein x is a butadiene content (% by weight) in the MBS resin, and y is a Vicat softening point (°C.) of the MBS resin, adding 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of a hard polymer per 100 parts by weight of the MBS resin in the state of latex or coagulated slurry to the resulting slurry of MBS resin, and recovering a powder from the resulting mixture. The resin powder is useful as an impact modifier for vinyl chloride resins and can impart an excellent impact resistance without impairing the transparency of vinyl chloride resins.
