摘要： A sewing machine thread take-up lever having a threading slot tangent to the thread retaining eye, the threading slot opening to the exterior of the upper surface of the take-up lever so that the sewing thread may be readily drawn into the thread retaining eye. The thread take-up lever is characterized by a prominently raised thread sloughing apex formed on the upper surface between the entrance to the threading slot and the free end of the takeup lever the upper surface tapering downwardly from the apex towards the free end of the take-up lever to a thread sloughing edge closely encircling the thread retaining eye. Thread sloughing is aided by fashioning the thread sloughing edges with generous radii.

摘要： In a sewing machine, an elevating unit is configured to be integrally raised and lowered with a threading lever of a threading apparatus. Furthermore, an operating lever is coupled to a lever interlocking mechanism that interlocks with the rotational operation of the operating lever. Upon pressing threading lever downward from an initial position when operating lever is at an operating position, an elevating unit engages with lever interlocking mechanism. Operating force applied to threading lever is transmitted to operating lever via lever interlocking mechanism, thereby turning operating lever from operating position to non-operating position. Accordingly, even when a presser is at a raised position, by pressing threading lever downward, operating lever is turnable from operating position to non-operating position, thereby allowing presser to return to pressing position.

摘要： A thread take-up lever for a sewing machine is mounted on the sewing machine and can prevent a thread from disengaging from a thread-receiving portion. The thread take-up lever is disposed with a C-shaped thread-receiving portion having an open recess. Adjacent to the open recess is provided at least one positioning portion for fixing a thread-stopping member. One end of the thread-stopping member is fixed to the positioning portion, and an elastic stopping portion extends from the other end of the thread-stopping member. The stopping portion is formed with a free end abutted against an inner periphery of the open recess. The free end can be pushed away by the thread, and then the free end will automatically return to its original position immediately to abut against the open recess again, thus forming a structure to prevent the thread from disengaging from the thread-receiving portion.

摘要： A device and method for continuously regulating the amount of thread stripped from a supply spool and fed to a sewing needle during embroidery is provided. In commercial embroidering, the lengths of consecutive stitches can vary widely. The invention allows the machine to apply optimal tension to all embroidery stitches, regardless of their differing lengths. Pulling all stitches under optimal tension improves the appearance of the finished stitches and reduces the breakage and fraying of the thread. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, a digital computer controls a programmable servomotor, which in turn regulates the action of the embroidery machine's take-up and driver lever. The take-up in turn regulates the length of thread stripped from the supply bobbin and fed to the current stitch. In an alternative embodiment, the take-up and driver lever are replaced by a wheel, which is connected to the servomotor.

摘要： A thread-holding device is used with a standard buttonhole machine having a support head, a stitching needle for a needle thread displaceably mounted on the support head, and a blade for cutting the needle thread after a stitching operation and forming thereon a free end extending laterally from the needle. The thread-holding device comprises a support plate pivoted on the head, and a thread clip having a pair of jaws displaceable between a closed position engaging each other for holding the thread and an open position for releasing it. An actuator on the support plate and carrying the thread clip can move same vertically between an upper position spaced laterally relatively far from the needle and a lower position laterally relatively close to the needle. A control unit is connected to the clip and to the actuator for moving the clip from the open to the closed position while moving it from the upper to the lower position after a stitching operation to grasp the free end of the cut thread adjacent the needle. On moving back up into the upper position, the thread is pulled out of the clip, which is however aligned with the second, normally right-hand, side of the buttonhole so that this free end will be stitched right into the buttonhole.
