    摘要： An add-on module for a contact printer used to manufacture a motion picture. The module enables the printing of a digital optical soundtrack on motion picture film from a sound negative using a standard contact printing process. The module includes spaced apart guide rollers and a main roller. Unexposed film is placed in contact between the main roller and the sound negative. The module further includes a fiber optic light source positioned adjacent to the sound negative for exposing the film and forming the digital soundtrack. The digital soundtrack is formed on a portion of the positive print which includes an area between each of the sprocket holes. In addition, the digital soundtrack extends from each sprocket hole to the edge of the positive print on both sides of the print.

    摘要： An improved light composer for use in duplicating film which illuminates each frame of film with an even and thoroughly diffused source of light delivered over a distance in order to prevent the replication of scratches and other surface imperfections in the master copy. The improved light diffuser comprises a light mixer with two opposed ends. The surface of the mixer is optically rough but reflective. A means for scattering light typically covers one of the ends of the mixer. Such means may be a plurality of clear lenses, each having a focal length substantially less than the length of the mixer. In such a case, light is refracted by a plurality of lenses and propagates along the length of the mixer by means of a multiplicity of reflections, whereby a plane opposed to the plurality of lenses is illuminated by a thoroughly diffused and even source of light. One or more scattering means may be combined into a plurality of stages with shutters to produce fades and dissolves on the duplicate copy of film.

    摘要： A system to provide for the production of standard motion picture color film from a color video signal or color information composed of color components. The color video signal is decoded into its separate red, green and blue components, which components are used to provide a special form of field sequential color consisting of a repeating color group where such group contains at least one field of each of the red, green and blue components and at least one additional field of at least one of the red, green and blue components. The special form of field sequential color is recorded on standard black and white film as a black and white separation master at either 60 field per second or 50 fields per second, depending upon the field rate of the video signal, which recording is accomplished using a continuous film motion electronic beam recorder. A standard color film is made from the separation master by exposing each frame of the color film in sequence to red, green and blue separation images using appropriate color filters with the separation master.
