The electrode fittings are connected to a connection portion extending in the parallel-arrangement direction of the rod-shaped light sources. The side wall plate includes a plurality of projecting members arranged in parallel to each other in the extending direction of the connection portion. The connection portion includes positions which are brought into contact with the projecting members and portions which are not brought into contact with the projecting members. By adopting the above-mentioned constitution, the liquid crystal display device can reduce squeals and the like.
