    摘要: A wearable medical device includes an electrode assembly having a plurality of ECG sensing electrodes configured to monitor a cardiac condition of a patient using the device, a call button to initiate a call with a remote location and a transceiver configured to communicate information to and from the wearable medical device. The device includes a memory and a controller having at least one processor configured to execute instructions stored in the memory. The instructions include receiving, via actuation of the call button, a request to initiate a communication link with the remote location, providing, via a user interface, a confirmatory prompt that the patient indicate confirmation to proceed with the request to initiate the communication link with the remote location, and initiating, via the transceiver, the communication link to the remote location responsive to the indication of the confirmation to proceed with the request to initiate the communication link.

    摘要: Techniques are disclosed for parametric color mixing in a digital painting application. A methodology implementing the techniques according to an embodiment includes generating a Bezier curve extending from a first point to a second point in a 3-Dimensional space. The first and second points are specified by coordinates based on red-green-blue (RGB) values of first and second mixing colors, respectively. The Bezier curve is defined by a selected curvature parameter which can be related to the paint medium, such as oil colors, water colors, pastels, etc., and which further specifies additive or subtractive mixing. The method also includes locating a point on the Bezier curve, the point determined by a selected mixing ratio parameter specifying a ratio of the first mixing color to the second mixing color. The method further includes generating a color mix based on RGB values specified by coordinates of the located point on the Bezier curve.

    摘要: Techniques are disclosed for lighting displays such as those associated with electrophoretic display (EPD) devices such as e-readers or any other display technologies or applications. In an embodiment, an EPD device is provided with a number of internal LEDs or other suitable light source generally disposed along at least a portion of the display perimeter. The light can be activated in situations where the available ambient light is inadequate for viewing the display. Light from the light source is distributed across the display, and in some embodiments, can be adjusted to provide a desired degree of brightness. The light can be turned on or off via an existing single press-button or otherwise tactile, physical user interface that serves multiple functions. This user interface can be readily found and engaged by the user without the benefit of sight.

    摘要: A glyph-aware method for underlining text in digital typography includes identifying first and second intersection coordinates where first and second bounds of an underline region of the text intersect with an outline path of a glyph in the text. Where such intersections occur, a portion of the outline path of the glyph between the first and second intersection coordinates is copied. First and second offset coordinates for the underline are determined by adding or subtracting an offset to the first and second intersection coordinates. A first underline outline path is constructed in the underline region, where the first underline outline path includes the copied of the outline path of the glyph between the first and second intersection coordinates. A display device renders an underline, at least partially, along the first underline outline path between the first and second offset coordinates in the underline region of the text.
