摘要: Embodiments of a magazine coupler include a coupler body, a first magazine attachment interface coupled to the coupler body and configured to removably mount a lower end portion of the first firearm magazine to the coupler body, a second magazine attachment interface coupled to the coupler body and configured to removably mount a lower end portion of the second firearm magazine to the coupler body, and a finger aperture extending formed through the coupler body. The finger aperture is sized and shaped to enable a user or firearm operator to spin the magazine coupler about a finger of the user when inserted through the finger aperture to vary which of the first firearm magazine and the second firearm magazine resides in an upright orientation for insertion into a well of a firearm when the magazine coupler resides in a deployed state.

摘要: A magazine for a firearm comprises a tubular magazine body defining a cavity for holding cartridges, a spring, and a follower biased by the spring for dispensing cartridges from the magazine. A spring base disposed on the body includes a cantilevered resiliently deformable spring arm supporting the spring in one embodiment. The base is held in place by the floor plate. Sliding the floor plate onto the magazine body engages an inclined ramp of the floor plate with spring arm which automatically moves the spring arm from an undeflected to deflected position. When the floor plate is fully coupled to the magazine tube such that the spring arm clears the ramp, the spring arm snaps back to the undeflected position and locks the floor plate in place on the tubular body via interlocked retention features without use of tools.

摘要: The present disclosure provides apparatus and methods for coupling an item to another item. The apparatus comprises a coupler mounted on the item and comprising a mating face having a plurality of catches thereon, the plurality of catches comprising at least one complementary pair of catches positioned and shaped to be engaged with corresponding catches of another coupler having an identical mating face when mating faces of two couplers are facewise engaged with and rotated relative to each other to align with each other. The coupler may be implemented as a floor plate of a magazine, as a clip, or in other forms.

摘要: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and apparatus for a follower assembly comprising one or more dummy cartridges, the first thereof comprising an angled follower platform that when pressed between the follower spring and a final live cartridge in the magazine, rotates to a first side of the magazine and enhances follower interaction with a slide lock mechanism. The follower platform may also be angled back to front to further enhance this interaction. The follower platform may include a protruding heel extending laterally from a front portion of the first side of the follower platform configured to interface with the slide lock mechanism. A rear stop may extend from a rear portion of the first side and interface with a downward-facing surface of the magazine near the feed end, wherein contact between these two surfaces causes a front end of the first dummy cartridge to rotate upward.

摘要: The invention relates to a magazine for a firearm. The magazine comprises a hollow housing for retaining a plurality of cartridges and a follower arranged inside the hollow housing. The hollow housing has a first side wall, a second side wall opposing the first side wall and a feed opening for feeding the cartridges into the firearm. The first side wall has an outer first side wall surface and an inner first side wall surface and the second side wall has an outer second side wall surface and an inner second side wall surface such that an interior space of the hollow housing is provided between the inner first side wall surface and the inner second side wall surface. The magazine further comprises a stopping member for preventing the follower from escaping out from the hollow housing. The stopping member is arranged to protrude from the inner first side wall surface toward the interior space of the hollow housing.

摘要: A magazine limit block is provided having a base configured to fit within an interior of a magazine body and a tapered main body configured to guide and support a spring within an interior of a magazine body. The tapered main body extends upwardly from the base. A notch is formed at a top surface of the limit block and is configured to accommodate and provide space for a connection point of the spring and a follower. The main body is configured to occupy space within a magazine body to limit a number of rounds of ammunition that fit inside the magazine and guides the spring during cycling.

摘要: A linear encoder may be used to accurately determine a number of cartridges within a magazine. Further, using a set of magnetic sensors within a buffer tube of a firearm, it is possible to determine whether a cartridge is loaded within a chamber of the weapon and/or whether the firearm is jammed. The determination of cartridges within the magazine in conjunction with the determination of whether a cartridge is in a chamber of a firearm can give a user an accurate ammunition count. Further, the use of the linear encoder makes it possible to accurately determine the cartridge count when different cartridges are loaded into the magazine or when the magazine degrades in quality over time. Moreover, the ability for magazines to communicate with a firearm enables a user to determine a total available ammunition to the user in a single display without individually checking each magazine.
