Abstract: A method is described in which data representing a three-dimensional object to be printed is obtained. The data comprises object property data indicative of properties of the three-dimensional object. Layers within the three-dimensional object to be printed are identified. The obtained data is processed by comparing object property data associated with an identified layer to object property data associated with a reference layer selected from the identified layers. Where a difference in object property data associated with an identified layer and object property data associated with a reference layer is determined, the determined difference is stored.

Abstract: Certain methods of generating a color mapping are described. In one method, an output of a color halftone processing pipeline is processed so as to determine a set of Neugebauer Primary area coverage (NPac) values that are representative of the output of the color halftone processing pipeline. These NPac values are then used, together with knowledge of an original input image, to generating the color mapping.

Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for processing an image such as a halftone image. For example, in some embodiments, pixels of an image are checked to see if when printed would be represented by a given output. Pixels of the image that match defined values are replaced with pixels that are represented by a different set of outputs. This latter set of outputs may be selected to optimize one or more imaging attributes.

Abstract: Certain examples described herein relate to structure forming for the production of a three-dimensional object. In these examples, different structure forming components or functions are applied to volumes of a three-dimensional object. These structure forming components or functions are arranged to differentially generate a halftone output. These examples use a material volume coverage representation that is generated from received object data, such as a vector object representation. The material volume coverage representation includes material volume coverage vectors for at least volumes forming part of a raster representation of the three-dimensional object. The raster representation is generated from the vector representation. Each material volume coverage vector represents a probabilistic distribution of materials available to the apparatus for production of the three-dimensional object and combinations of said materials.
