Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a mapping between a plurality of sets of hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes and a corresponding plurality of HARQ process types. The UE may configure one or more HARQ processes of the UE based at least in part on the indication. In some aspects, a base station may transmit, to a UE, an indication of a mapping between a plurality of sets of HARQ processes and a corresponding plurality of HARQ process types. The base station may select a HARQ process, of the plurality of HARQ processes, to be used for a communication with the UE based at least in part on the mapping. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: A base station may configure at least a first downlink transmission in a regular downlink burst with the first numerology for transmitting at least a portion of a data channel to a UE according to a numerology of a service used for data channel transmission. The base station also may configure at least a portion of a second downlink transmission in a regular downlink burst with a second numerology for transmitting a synchronization signal to the UE. A UE that receives the downlink regular burst may demodulate and decode the symbols in the received transmissions according to the numerology associated with each symbol.

Abstract: Aspects directed towards a frame-based equipment (FBE) design for a multi-operator New Radio shared spectrum (NR-SS) are disclosed. In one example, at least one contention slot is monitored within a fixed frame period of an unlicensed spectrum, and a determination is performed of whether a channel reservation signal associated with a higher priority node has been detected within the at least one contention slot. For this example, the at least one contention slot is associated with a resource of a subsequent fixed frame period of the unlicensed spectrum. A determination is then made of whether to transmit communication via the resource. Here, the communication is transmitted via the resource, if the channel reservation signal is not detected, and the communication is not transmitted via the resource, if the channel reservation signal is detected.

Abstract: An apparatus may use inactive uplink portions of a downlink CC to transmit SRS to an eNB. At times there may be a collision between the SRS transmission and uplink transmissions or downlink transmissions on another CC. The apparatus receives a carrier aggregation configuration for a first downlink CC and a second CC, determines to transmit an uplink transmission on the second CC or to receive a downlink transmission on the second CC, determines that the SRS would at least partially collide with the uplink transmission or the downlink transmission, and determines to adjust at least one of the uplink transmission, the SRS transmission, or reception of the downlink transmission based on the determination of the collision and an interruption time to transmit the SRS in the uplink portion of the first CC.

Abstract: Various aspects described herein relate to reducing transmission latency in unlicensed spectrum. These latency reduction techniques include enabling ultra low latency (ULL) traffic to gain fast channel access. These latency reduction techniques further include updating a size of a contention window for channel access. In addition, these latency reduction techniques include enhancing CPDCCH-based signaling to accommodate the ULL frame structure. Further, these latency reduction techniques include providing robust operation against bursty interference for ULL transmissions. Moreover, these techniques include managing DRX for ULL. Additionally, these latency reduction techniques include joint scheduling of different TTI durations. These latency reduction techniques further include updating SRS transmission opportunities. In addition, these latency reduction techniques include reducing latency associated with PRACH transmissions. Further, these latency reduction techniques include reducing ULL transmission delays by either ignoring or cancelling scheduled uplink (e.g., LTE) transmissions.

Abstract: There is a large chunk of unlicensed/shared high-frequency spectrum above the 5G radio frequency that begin to be utilized for 5G applications. 5G currently supports a limited number of waveforms. The other waveforms may be beneficial to the shared high-frequency bands, such as SC-QAM/SC-FDM for downlink transmission and SC-QAM for uplink transmission to improve link budget and to reduce complexity. A method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium at a user equipment (UE) are disclosed to determine a first waveform for a broadcast channel, based in part on a received synchronization block signal from a base station. Then the UE further determines a second waveform for at least one signaling channel, based in part on the received broadcast channel.

In certain aspects, the PI may include a resource index associated with a reduced transmission power by the UE. In certain other aspects, the resource index may include one or more resources in a second slot. The apparatus may transmit at least one packet with the reduced transmission power on the one or more resources in the second slot or refraining from transmitting the at least one packet on the one or more resources in the second slot.
