Abstract:
A system for automatic security authentication in a wireless network includes a server and a terminal. The terminal includes a processor, a first communications unit, and a second communications unit. The server includes a database, a control unit, and a third communications unit. The processor receives an identification code of an access point through the first communications unit, and sends a message to the control unit through the second communications unit. The message includes the identification code of the access point, a user account and a user password. The control unit sends an authentication code corresponding to the identification code according to data stored in the database to the processor through the third communications unit. After receipt of the authentication code, the processor automatically logs in to the access point through the first communications unit to activate a wireless network access function.
Abstract:
An information processing apparatus (1) is equipped with: a history packet transmitting unit (11) for transmitting a history packet via a communication processing apparatus (2); a request packet transmitting unit (12) for transmitting a request packet which requests a transmission of a return packet; a packet transmission control unit (13) for controlling the transmission of the request packet; a return packet receiving unit (14) for receiving the return packet transmitted from a server apparatus (3); and a port keeping time detecting unit (15) for detecting a port keeping time of the communication processing apparatus (2) based upon the reception of the return packet by the return packet receiving unit (14). The server apparatus (3) is comprised of: a request packet receiving unit (31) for receiving the request packet; and a return packet transmitting unit (32) for transmitting the return packet to a port of the communication processing apparatus (2) when the request packet receiving unit (31) receives the request packet. With employment of the above-described arrangement, an information processing system capable of detecting the port keeping time of the communication processing apparatus is provided.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for transmitting data to a mobile node. A network access entity is connected to several routing entities, forming a routing area. The mobile node is located within a reception area, controlled by a first routing entity. A moving velocity of the mobile node is continuously being calculated and compared to a predetermined threshold. In case the moving velocity is not higher than the threshold, the data is transmitted from the network access entity to the first routing entity and from there to the mobile node. In case the velocity is higher than the threshold, the data is transmitted from the network access entity to each of the routing entities within the routing area and is then further transmitted from the first routing entity to the mobile node.
Abstract:
An object of the invention is to present service selection to the user immediately when it is made possible to realize a new service with a communication terminal of an associated party. A communication terminal 100 enables the user to use a communication service using a peripheral equipment within a communication range with an associated terminal connected through a network and includes a total control section 104 having a capability information change notification unit for notifying the associated terminal of occurrence of change in the peripheral equipment within the communication range and a service candidate determination unit for determining an available communication service with the associated terminal when change in the peripheral equipment occurs.
Abstract:
The auxiliary electric power supply for a vehicle has a first switch electrically connected to an I/O end; a capacitor bank; a discharge resistance; and a controller. The capacitor bank has series-connected electric double layer capacitors, and balanced resistances. Each of the balanced resistance is parallel-connected to each electric double layer capacitor, and has substantively the same resistance value. The capacitor bank and discharge resistance are connected to the first switch. The controller controls the first switch while monitoring the voltage of the capacitor bank and the operating state of the ignition key operating the ignition switch of the vehicle, so as to connect the capacitor bank to the discharge resistance when the ignition switch is turned off.
Abstract:
A pair of internal electrodes are disposed at both ends of a lamp. A first voltage including a positive DC voltage superimposed on a substantial rectangular waveform voltage is applied to one of the internal electrodes. A second voltage including a negative DC voltage superimposed on the substantial rectangular waveform voltage is applied to the other internal electrode. The dark portion occurring substantially at the center in the longitudinal direction of the lamp becomes invisible, so that the brightness distribution is improved.
Abstract:
The PDP has front panel (2), and a back panel with address electrodes formed thereon. Front panel (2) has display electrodes (6) including first electrodes (42b, 52b) and second electrodes (41b, 51b) formed on front glass substrate (3); and dielectric layer (8) covering display electrodes (6). Further, first electrodes (42b, 52b) and dielectric layer (8) include glass frit, which contains at least one of molybdenum oxide, magnesium oxide and cerium oxide; and bismuth oxide, with a softening point exceeding 550° C. The above-described makeup suppresses a coloring phenomenon in dielectric layer (8) and front glass substrate (3), thereby implementing a plasma display panel with a high luminance.
Abstract:
For address management of a nonvolatile memory, the whole logical address space is divided into logical address ranges (0 to 15), and the physical address space is divided into physical areas (segments (0 to 15)). The logical address ranges are respectively associated with the physical areas (segments) to manage the addresses. The sizes of the logical address ranges are equalized. The size of the physical area (segment (0)) corresponding to the logical address range (0) in which data of high rewrite frequency such as an FAT is expected to be stored is larger than those of the other physical areas, and the logical address ranges and the physical areas are allocated. Alternatively, the sizes of the physical areas are equalized, and the size of the logical address range (0) is set as a smaller one than those of the other logical address ranges. With this, the actual rewrite frequencies of the physical areas (segments) are equal to one another, and consequently the life of the nonvolatile memory can be prolonged.
Abstract:
An information retrieval device and the like are provided to quickly retrieve information desired by a user even when information is collected based on the user's taste or interest. Each of sort item generating units (121 to 12N) sorts information into plural sort items based on different sorting aspects (details or attributes of information), and a category generating unit (13) combines the sort items into various categories. A category-combination searching unit (14) combines a predetermined number of the categories to generate category combinations to which information of the most equivalent in number belongs. When information is narrowed down using the category combinations, the number of operations for arriving at target information to be retrieved by the user (specifically, the number of operations for selecting categories or for searching target information to be retrieved in the categories) can be minimized, thereby enabling much faster retrieval.
Abstract:
The invention relates to methods for transmitting and receiving a data bit stream in a communication system using 16-QAM constellations. Further, an apparatus for performing the methods is provided. To improve the bit-error rate performance of the communication using the 16-QAM constellations the invention suggests the use 16-QAM constellations with specially selected mapping rules together with a special constellation rearrangement for creating different versions of the 16-QAM constellations. Further, the data stream is transmitted according to a diversity scheme employing different versions of the 16-QAM constellations obtained adhering the mapping rules and rearrangement rules defined by the invention.
