Abstract: An apparatus can receive or transmit parameters for a sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission configuration as an uplink (UL)/downlink (DL) configuration of a serving cell. A time division duplex (TDD) operation with a plurality of component carriers (CCs) can be enabled/generated based on the parameters and at least one component carriers being reserved for the UL transmission or having a higher priority than a physical channel transmission such as a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission or a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmission.

Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) configured for communication of sounding reference signal (SRS) resources is disclosed. The UE can decode a radio resource control (RRC) signal indicating an SRS to transmit with a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH), wherein the PUCCH and the SRS are quasi co located (QCLed) based on a spatial received parameter. The UE can encode an SRS for transmission using the spatial received parameter. The UE can encode uplink control information (UCI) for transmission in the PUCCH using the spatial received parameter. The UE can have a memory interface configured to send to a memory the spatial received parameter.

Abstract: Systems and methods of early termination of uplink data transmissions for a UE are described. The UE transmits capacity information that indicates that the UE supports use of an ETS. The ETS indicates successful reception by the eNB of the uplink data prior to an end of a scheduled transmission period to transmit repeated instances of the data. The UE receives a schedule for repeated transmissions of the data that is based on a coverage level of the UE, and then transmits sets of one or more repetitions. After the transmission, the UE monitors a predetermined resource whether the ETS is present or whether the ETS indicates an ACK. If the ETS indicates successful reception, the UE terminates transmission of the remaining repetitions of the data and enters a sleep mode or transmits other uplink data.

The one or more processors are configured to arrange phase tracking reference signal (PT-RS) resource elements (REs) and data REs as an arrangement for a transmission based on one or more diversity factors. The one or more diversity factors include a time domain and a frequency domain. The one or more processors are also configured to provide the transmission having the PT-RS REs to the RF interface for transmission to a user equipment (UE) device.

Abstract: Devices for and methods of beam refinement using a beam refinement reference signal (BRRS) are generally described. A UE receives BRRS information indicating a BRRS position of at least one OFDM symbol in a first or last symbol pair in a subframe. The BRRS replaces the xPDCCH, the last two symbols of data (an xPDSCH or xPUSCH), or is TDMed with a GP. The data and BRRS are allocated to the UE or to different UEs. The BRRS information is provided via an indicator in the DCI or higher layer signaling. The UE refines either the current Rx beam or directly refines a candidate Rx beam and uses one or multiple symbols, as indicated by a BRRS format.

Abstract: Narrowband Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) implementations are discussed. An example Evolved NodeB (eNB) comprises a memory storing instructions, a processor configured to execute the instructions, and a transmitter circuit. The processor is configured to determine at least one of downlink or uplink scheduling for one or more machine-type communication (MTC)-enabled user equipments (UEs); to generate, based at least in part on the determined scheduling, one or more MTC-physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) signals (M-PDCCH signals) associated with the one or more MTC-enabled UEs; and to perform channel coding, multiplexing, and scrambling of the one or more M-PDCCH signals. The transmitter circuit is configured to map the one or more M-PDCCH signals to resource element groups (REGs) in order of increasing subcarrier followed by orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol and to transmit the one or more M-PDCCH signals via a narrowband bandwidth of less than 1.4 MHz.

Abstract: Techniques discussed herein can facilitate determination of spatial (and/or beam) assumption(s) for PDSCH (Physical Downlink Shared Channel) transmitted after a BFR (Beam Failure Recovery) request but before TCI (Transmission Configuration Information) reconfiguration. One example embodiment can be an apparatus configured to: generate a BFR request that indicates a new candidate beam; process a CORESET (Control Resource Set)-BFR of a set of configured CORESETs, wherein the CORESET-BFR comprises a response to the BFR request; determine a spatial assumption for a first PDSCH based on the BFR request, wherein the first PDSCH is scheduled by a first CORESET of the set of configured CORESETs, wherein the first CORESET is different than the CORESET-BFR, wherein the first PDSCH is scheduled before a TCI state is one of reconfigured, reactivated, or re-indicated; and process the first PDSCH based on the determined spatial assumption for the first PDSCH.
