    Abstract: A method is performed at a first computer system having a first display generation component in communication a second computer system having a second display generation component. The method includes, in response to an input, moving a representation of content across a first display region provided by the first display generation component to a second display region provided by the second display generation component when the display generation components are communication in a first mode or a second mode. The method includes moving an application window across the first display region to the second display region provided when the display generation components are communication in the first mode and preventing the moving across the first display region to the second display region when the display generation components are in communication in the second mode.

    Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for transmitting a message to a user device in accordance with a determination that another device is unreachable over a network. In one example, a server device, at a first location, may identify a controller device resident at a second location, whereby the controller device is configured to communicate with a router at the second location. The server device may also receive a list of user devices. The server device may transmit a ping message to the controller device via the router to determine whether the controller device is unreachable by the server device. The server device may subsequently transmit a message to a user device on the list in accordance with a determination that the controller device is unreachable by the server device, whereby the message includes instructions for the user device to determine whether the controller device is unreachable by the user device.

    Abstract: At an electronic device, detecting a compatible external device, where the external device is executing or has executed a first application. The detection may be made wirelessly. The electronic device also receives usage information regarding the first application from the external device. Display an affordance for user selection based on the received information. When the affordance is selected, launch a second application on the electronic device, the second application corresponding to the first application. In some examples, the second application is a different version of the first application. Launching the second application may additionally include bringing the second application to the same state as the first application. For example, if e-mail is being drafted on the external device, the electronic device may launch an e-mail editor showing the draft. In this way, a user can seamlessly transition from the use of one electronic device to another electronic device.
