Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods that allow activation of and intuitive interactions with a companion-display mode for an electronic device. In one aspect, a first device receives a request to annotate content on the first device. In accordance with a determination that a second device is available for displaying the content in an annotation mode and has not been previously approved to display the content in the annotation mode, the first device displays a selectable option that, when selected, causes the first device to send an instruction to display the content in the annotation mode at the second device. When the electronic device is available for displaying the content in the annotation mode and has previously been approved to display the content in the annotation mode, the first device sends an instruction to the second device to display the content in the annotation mode automatically without further user intervention.

Abstract: Many electronic devices have graphical user interfaces that use applications windows. Because a user may use one or more instances of a particular application or multiple applications at once, application windows are useful tools for organizing items stored in electronic devices and using features provided by various applications. A user may need to manipulate, organize, configure and/or resize application windows. Some methods for manipulating, organizing, configuring and/or resizing application windows require a sequence of user inputs that navigate in a menu system. For example, with these methods, a user may need to select a user interface object in display a menu and/or perform one or more actions on the selected user interface object associated with one or more application windows. The various methods disclosed herein streamline manipulating, organizing, configuring and/or resizing application windows.

Abstract: A set of user interfaces for a data processing system that operates with two or more display devices coupled to the system. In one embodiment, in response to moving a first window between two displays, the first window is displayed, as it straddles the two displays, differently on the two displays. Abstract: A device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface displays a user interface including a user interface object at a first location. While displaying the user interface, the device detects a portion of an input, including a contact at a location on the touch-sensitive surface corresponding to the user interface object. In response to detecting the portion of the input: upon determining that the portion of the input meets menu-display criteria, the device displays a plurality of selectable options that corresponds to the user interface object on the display; and, upon determining that the portion of the input meets object-move criteria, the device moves the user interface object or a representation thereof from the first location to a second location according to the movement of the contact.
