Abstract:
The invention relates to providing a method for more conveniently evaluating stratum corneum condition. A stratum corneum sheet is contacted with a solution of a water-soluble dye, and the staining intensity or fluorescence intensity is measured to allow convenient evaluation of the stratum corneum condition. There is further provided a method for evaluating the ameliorating effect of a cosmetic or cosmetic treatment on the stratum corneum, by implementing the method for evaluating stratum corneum condition using a water-soluble dye according to the invention.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an oil-in-water emulsion composition that is high in the moisturizing effect and the skin smoothing effect, excellent in the improving effect on wrinkles and elasticity, good in spreadability during application, and without an oily feeling and sticky feeling. The oil-in-water emulsion composition of the present invention is characterized by comprising the below-described components (a) hyaluronic acid or a salt thereof, (b) ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate/beheneth-25 methacrylate crosspolymer, (c) water-holding oil, (d) glycerin, and (e) ethanol.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an water-in-oil sunscreen cosmetic in which an unpleasant odor specific to zinc oxide can be suppressed by using hydrophobized silica-coated microparticle of zinc oxide, coarseness due to the hydrophobized silica-coated microparticle of zinc oxide can be suppressed and smoothly and well spreadable excellent texture are brought in reality by formulating a combination of the hydrophobized silica-coated microparticle of zinc oxide and a predetermined amount of volatile hydrocarbon oil and volatile dimethicone. The water-in-oil emulsion sunscreen cosmetic of the present invention comprises (a) a hydrophobized silica-coated microparticle of zinc oxide, (b) a volatile hydrocarbon oil, and (c) a volatile dimethicone, wherein the total amount of (b) the volatile hydrocarbon oil and (c) the volatile dimethicone is in the range of 3 to 45% by mass on the basis of the total amount of the sunscreen cosmetic.
Abstract:
The present invention is a sunscreen cosmetic comprising the following components (A) through (E): A. Ultraviolet protection agent B. Volatile oil component C. Cetyl dimethicone copolyol D. (Acrylate/stearyl acrylate/dimethicone methacrylate) copolymer E. Organically modified clay mineral The object of the present invention is to provide a sunscreen cosmetic that has very high water resistance, superior emulsification stability, and superior texture during use.
Abstract:
A method for quantitatively analyzing cysteine and cysteine includes a first step of adding a methyl-sulfurating agent to a sample that includes cysteine and cystine to obtain a methyl-sulfurated cysteine, a second step of adding a derivatizing agent to the methyl-sulfurated cysteine and the cystine to obtain a cysteine derivative and a cystine derivative, respectively, and a third step of quantifying the cysteine derivative and the cystine derivative.
Abstract:
Provided is an oil-in-water type emulsified sunscreen cosmetic which contains (a) 0.1 to 5.0 mass % of an organosiloxane derivative represented by general formula (1) (in the formula, at least one of R1 to R3 is a functional group represented by —O—Si(R4)3 (R4 is an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms or a phenyl group), and the remaining R1 to R3 groups may be the same or different and are substituted or unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon groups, M is a hydrogen atom, a metal atom or an organic cation, and A is a straight chain or branched chain alkylene group represented by CqH2q, wherein q is an integer of 0 to 20), (b) 0.1 to 5.0 mass % of poly(ethylene glycol) stearate, (c) 10.0 to 25.0 mass % of an ultraviolet radiation absorber and (d) a higher alcohol. The oil-in-water type emulsified sunscreen cosmetic undergoes little change in viscosity even if a large quantity of an ultraviolet radiation absorber is blended in the cosmetic and even when stored for long periods at low or high temperatures, spreads and absorbs well when applied to the skin, does not cause stickiness following application and has a refreshing feel.
Abstract:
It is an object of the invention to provide a method for evaluating cosmetics that allows development of cosmetics that can contribute to beautiful healthy skin. The object is achieved by a method of evaluating improvement in skin by an applied cosmetic, using as the index the change in stratum corneum thickness during the process of moistening and drying.
Abstract:
Provided is a redispersible powder-dispersed cosmetic which has a clear supernatant when unused, can exhibit good powder redispersibility when shaken upon use, has a good sensation, e.g., smoothness and non-stickiness, upon application to the skin, and has an excellent effect of dissolving/removing keratotic plugs. The cosmetic is characterized by comprising (A) succinic acid and/or a salt thereof, (B) bentonite and (C) a hydrophilic surfactant. Particularly preferably, the cosmetic additionally comprises a cellulose powder. It is preferred that the component (A), i.e., succinic acid and/or the salt thereof, is contained in an amount of 0.01 to 10.0 mass % relative to the total amount of the cosmetic.
Abstract:
A rose-like fragrance composition including methyl epijasmonate, provided that a natural jasmine fragrance containing methyl epijasmonate is excluded. The rose-like fragrance composition can also include 2-isopropyl-4-methyl thiazole.
