Abstract:
A portable soft sided insulated container has an impermeable liner that provides a liquid holding barrier. The liner is folded from a single monolithic plastic sheet to reduce or eliminate the need for heat welded seams. The liner seats within the container and has a releasable attachment around its lip for mating with the rim of the container. The container has an insulated lid so that the entire assembly may be closed. The liner can be removed for cleaning, or replacement if punctured. When not in use the entire assembly can be folded into a collapsed position for storage. The container has two storage chambers that share a common insulated dividing wall.
Abstract:
Covers, containers, multi-ply insulators and methods are disclosed for maintaining a desired thermal environment for carried or conveyed materials. The insulating cover of this invention for use over a liquid supply tube of the type associated with body mountable hydration pack system includes a multi-ply envelope having outer and inner material layers, the outer layer having an outwardly facing reflective surface, preferably a silver MYLAR with knit backing. The inner layer includes an open cell foam with a smooth, inwardly facing, lining.
Abstract:
By using a core made of laminated sheets of inorganic fibers having a particular shape and composition as part of a vacuum heat insulator for a heat insulation box, a heat insulation box excellent in long-term heat insulating properties and productivity can be provided. The vacuum heat insulator can be shaped easily. Therefore, a vacuum heat insulator suitable for a required heat insulation portion can be produced easily and applied to a heat insulation box. This property can increase coverage of the vacuum heat insulator on the heat insulation box, thus improving heat insulating properties of the heat insulation box. This can improve heat insulating properties and productivity of a refrigerator, thermal storage box, cold storage box, or vending machine, and contribute to energy savings.
Abstract:
Refrigerator including a cold air duct fitted in a space stuffed with an insulating material between an inner case and an outer case of the refrigerator having a triangular section in a part facing the inner case for preventing deformation of the inner case in foaming of the insulating material, thereby preventing deformation of the inner case caused by late foaming.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a domestic refrigerator or freezer that has a food storage compartment delimited by insulated walls and by one or more access doors to the compartment. One or more walls or doors are provided with a metallic film, preferably a metallised polymeric film, capable of enhancing the performance of the refrigerator with regard to energy saving.
Abstract:
A refrigerator door has reinforcing corner brackets that structurally complete the corners of the door. The corner brackets are located at the door corners adjacent vertical and horizontal side walls of the outer door skin of the door. At least one reinforcing member such as a sheet or rectangular collar, for example, or preferably reinforcing cross brace members are connected to the corner brackets. To achieve this connection and restrict heat transfer through the door and or adjacent the inner liner or in-turned flange of the outer door skin, the corner brackets have connecting tab portions that extend into the cavity of the door away from one of the side walls of the door and spaced from the other side wall of the door. The connecting tab portion is also spaced from the outer skin sheet and the inner door liner. As a result, the reinforcing member or members extend substantially across the width of the door spaced from the outer door skin wall and the inner door liner and are connected to the connecting bracket which is connected in heat transfer relation with side walls, horizontal or vertical, of the door. This reduces heat losses from the refrigerator cabinet conducted through the reinforcing member or members of the door.
Abstract:
A sorption cooling device capable of providing cooling over an extended period of time. The sorption cooling device is particularly useful in a temperature-controlled shipping container that is required to maintain a temperature below ambient for an extended period of time. In one embodiment, the cooling device includes a means for restricting the flow of refrigerant liquid to control the degree of cooling over an extended period of time.
Abstract:
A mullion assembly for a refrigerator cabinet has a pair of adjacent edge wall insulating gasket members extending toward the open side of the cabinet. The edge wall members each have a forward surface extending flush to the open side for supporting a portion of a door sealing gasket and a recessed channel extending rearwardly of the open side. One of the edge wall members has a locating flange member with an edge portion extending toward the other one of the edge wall members. A metallic mullion bar extends between the pair of edge wall members and has a flat wall portion against which seals another portion of the door sealing gasket carrying a magnet. The mullion bar has rewardly extending flanges extending into and supported by a respective one of the recessed channels of the edge wall members. A block of fiberglass insulation is mounted rearwardly of the metallic mullion bar within the space between the interior cavities. The insulation member is held in engagement by and between the pair of edge wall members by the locating flange member edge portion urging the insulation member against the other edge wall member. This assembly has reduced thermal transfer from outside ambient to the interior cavity of the cabinet through the metallic mullion bar.

Abstract:
An improved point-of-sale product chiller that is modular in design and construction whereby the server may be readily produced in various sizes and capacities for point-of-sale display and sale of chilled products. An insulated enclosure includes a base panel, a pair of sidewall panels, and a plurality of modular end wall panels that form a chilled product cavity. The panels are formed of hollow, blow-molded thermoplastic with foam insulation panels inserted therein. A chiller of a desired size is produced by selecting a base panel of the desired size and assembling to it modular end wall panels and sidewall panels of the desired size. One or more insulated central divider panels may be assembled within the enclosure to form multiple chilled product cavities within the enclosure. Removable, flat cold cell panels having cooperating edges are inserted about the inner periphery of the enclosure to maintain product temperatures inside the cavities.
