    摘要: A cooler insert comprising a hexahedrical container having an exterior surface and a hollow interior forming a fluid-tight reservoir containing a refrigerant material. The hexahedrical container includes a plurality of deep beverage receptacles on the top side of its exterior surface and a plurality of shallow beverage receptacles on the bottom side of its exterior surface. The design and configuration of the beverage receptacles enables a single cooler insert to be used alone or multiple cooler inserts to be used in a stacked configuration.

    摘要: An appliance having a storage tank disposed on its back surface wherein the storage tank comprises a front cover and a back cover that matingly engages the front cover to form a liquid tight seal with the front cover. The storage tank further includes a phase-changing material disposed within the storage tank and a heat exchanger containing refrigerant tubing which transfers heat from the phase-changing solution to the refrigerant tubing. The storage tank, when fully charged with cooling capacity, maintains the food storage compartment at a temperature of 45° F. or less for at least 8 hours without activating a compressor.

    摘要: A method is for preconditioning at least one latent heat storage element, which is arranged in a thermally insulated, closed container having a space for accommodating goods to be transported. The latent heat storage element has a target temperature preferably slightly in excess of 0 DEG C. In such an arrangement, it is particularly practical for the accommodation space in the container to be filled with a certain amount of a coolant, particularly ice, and for the container to be closed, and therefore the latent heat storage element located in the container is cooled to the target temperature.

    摘要: A temperature regulation apparatus includes a dry ice module that encloses dry ice so that the module's outside surface is not hazardous to touch. Insulation, breathable material, or a combination of insulating and breathable materials, allows dry ice sublimation at a sufficiently slow rate within the attached dry ice module to control the ambient temperature in the area to be cooled. The dry ice module can be attached in a location that maximizes the dry ice cooling properties, typically at or near the top of the area to be cooled. Since sublimated carbon dioxide is heavier than normal air, it falls to the bottom of the area to be cooled and builds up. The venting placement in the dry ice module is based upon the make up of the dry ice module and the breathable materials inside of it.
