    Abstract: A thermostat monitoring method includes measuring an engine coolant temperature with an engine coolant temperature sensor a predetermined amount of time after engine startup, comparing, with a controller, the engine coolant temperature to determine whether the engine coolant temperature has met a predetermined threshold, when the engine coolant temperature has met the predetermined threshold, measuring a plurality of engine coolant temperatures with the engine coolant temperature sensor, comparing with the controller each of the plurality of engine coolant temperatures with a corresponding predetermined temperature model, and increasing a passing index with the controller for each of the plurality of engine coolant temperatures that is greater than the corresponding predetermined temperature model or reducing the passing index for each of the plurality of engine coolant temperatures that is less than the corresponding predetermined temperature model.

    Abstract: A hinge assembly for a vehicle closure panel includes a body mounting member configured to mount the hinge assembly to a vehicle body, a closure panel mounting member configured to mount the hinge assembly to the vehicle closure panel and a hinge connecting arm pivotally connected by a first pivotal connection at a first end to the body mounting member and pivotally connected by a second pivotal connection at a second end to the closure panel mounting member. A first fastening member is movably received by the closure panel mounting member. A first stop member limits movement of the first fastening member in a first direction toward the closure panel mounting member. A second stop member limits movement of the first fastening member in a second direction away from the closure panel mounting member.

    Abstract: A vehicle body structure includes a front side member, a body attachment structure and an off-center impact structure. The body attachment structure is attached to an outboard wall of the front side member along a front-section forward of an outboard opening and extends in an outboard direction from the front side member. The off-center impact structure has an elongated member with a straight portion that extends through the outboard opening and into a hollow interior of the front side member. The elongated member is fixedly coupled to the outboard wall of the front side member adjacent to, spaced apart from and rearward of the body attachment structure. In response to an impact event of an off-center impact test the body attachment structure deforms and moves into contact with the elongated member transferring impact force to the elongated member.

    Abstract: Electrodes having three dimensional current collectors provide stability to the electrode structure, improved contact between active material and the current collector, and improved charge transfer. An electrode includes a three dimensional current collector including a substantially planar base and spring-like structures extending from the substantially planar base in spaced relation along the substantially planar base. Each spring-like structure has an attachment end attached to the substantially planar base and a free distal end. Active material is layered on the three dimensional current collector, the active material filled between the spring-like structures. The active material comprises alloying particles having a high specific capacity, wherein the spring-like structures deflect as the alloying particles expand in volume due to lithiation and return to an initial position as the alloying particles contract due to delithiation.

    Abstract: A vehicle body structure includes a first panel, a second panel, a pulse detection sensor and a gap reduction member. The first panel has a first main section and a sensor installation location that is spaced apart from the first main section. The second panel has a second main section that is spaced apart from the first main section of the first panel and defines a gap therebetween. The pulse detection sensor is attached to the first panel at the sensor installation location. The gap reduction member is installed to the first main section of the first panel. The gap reduction member extends from the first main section toward the second main section within the gap.
