Abstract: Systems and methods are presented herein for modifying messages transmitted between a first computing device and a second computing device based on the determination of a context of messages transmitted between the first and second computing devices. A first message, prepared to be transmitted to a second computing device, is prepared at a first computing device. Based on an identifier corresponding to the second computing device, a plurality of devices communicably coupled to the second computing device are determined. Selectable options are generated at the first computing device which, when selected, determine which of the second computing device or one of the plurality of communicably coupled devices will receive the transmitted message. Based on the selection of an option, the message may be modified to fit the format of the device corresponding to the selected option and transmitted to the device corresponding to the selected option.

Abstract: Systems and methods for selectively providing audio alerts via a speaker device are disclosed herein. A system plays first audio content through a speaker. A microphone captures second audio content comprising an alert. Output of the second audio content through the speaker is suppressed by using noise cancellation. The system identifies the alert within the second audio content and determines a priority level of the alert. The system determines, based on the priority level, that the alert should be reproduced, and audibly reproduces the alert via the speaker, with the first audio content or instead of the first audio content.

Abstract: Methods and systems for managing an interruption of content presentation on a computing device are provided. In one example, an interruption of presentation of a segment of content on a computing device is detected. An estimated recovery time is determined for the interruption. Based at least in part on the estimated recovery time, a determination is made as to whether to skip the segment or wait to resume presentation of the video segment after the interruption subsides. Abstract: Systems and methods for addressing a corrupted segment in a media asset. The media guidance application determines that a segment of a media asset is corrupted. The media guidance application determines whether a retrieval period to retrieve an uncorrupted copy of the segment exceeds a threshold period. If the retrieval period does not exceed the threshold period, the media guidance application retrieves and generates for display the uncorrupted copy of the segment. If the retrieval period exceeds the threshold period, the media guidance application determines whether an importance level of the corrupted segment exceeds a threshold level. If the importance level exceeds the threshold level, the media guidance application generates for display a summary for the corrupted segment. If the importance level does not exceed the threshold level, the media guidance application generates for display the subsequent segment and the summary for the corrupted segment in an overlay.

Abstract: The system generates a display providing condensing content for display under time constraints. In response to a selection of a program that has already started, the system retrieves information about the program. Based on this information, and information about the user, the system selects a subset of segments of the program, forming a shorter version of the content that fits within a reduced time interval, from the time of selection to a scheduled end time. Accordingly, the user is presented with the condensed version of the currently selected program by, including the important or relevant segments of the program. The system generates the condensed content by selecting segments of the program that are determined to be important to the user and that cumulatively fit with the available viewing time. The system may sort, score, or otherwise rank segment identifiers based on user profile information.
