Abstract:
The invention aims at constructing improved dictionaries of CELP excitation vectors for coding/decoding digital audio signals. Usually, each vector of dimension N comprises pulses capable of occupying N valid positions. The invention concerns the construction of dictionaries with particular structure by: providing a common sequence of pulses forming a base pattern; and assigning the base pattern to each excitation vector of the dictionary, based on one or more occurrences at one or more respective positions among said N valid positions. The invention also concerns a combination of dictionaries thus constructed with optionally standard multipulse dictionaries, by union or summation or cascading.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for regenerating the phase of an optical signal carrying an information encoded by phase modulation of said signal, the device comprising an optical modulation converter for converting the signal carrying the information encoded by phase modulation into at least one secondary signal carrying said information encoded by amplitude modulation, and at least one module for optically regenerating the amplitude of the secondary signal.

For downloading e-mails into a mobile node (50) of a communication network comprising different core networks, one of them being available to provide an active interface for establishing a connection of said mobile node with an e-mail server (18) in said communication network, the system comprises an e-mail client (51) arranged for checking if the active interface is provided by a high speed or a low speed core network, and for requiring the server to transmit e-mails without their attachments in the case of a low speed network and with their attachments in the case of a high speed network.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the encoding/decoding of digital signals, especially using permutation codes involving a calculation of combinatorial expressions. According to the invention, the combinatorial expressions are represented by prime factor power decompositions, and determined by a preliminary reading of pre-recorded representations of decompositions of selected integers.

Abstract:
A method of organizing nodes of a network into clusters of nodes comprises a step (130) of calculating, for each node, a weight, representing the aptness of this node to be the master node of a grouping, and a step (190) of electing a master node of a grouping, such that the weight of this master node is greater than or equal to the weights of the other nodes of the grouping. The method furthermore comprises a step (140 180) of storing, in each node, an information cue (14) containing an identifier of the node of highest weight known by this node and the value of this highest weight, a step (150) of transmitting, by each node to nodes adjacent to this node, the information cue (14) stored in this node, and a step (170) of comparing, for each node, the information cues (14) transmitted to this node during the transmitting step (150) with the information cue stored in this node, so as to determine a new node of highest weight known by this node. The steps of storing (180), transmitting (150) and comparing (170) are repeated successively a predetermined number (k) of times, on conclusion of which the step (190) of electing a master node is carried out, in the course of which a node (M) whose stored information cue contains its own identifier is chosen to be a master node.
Abstract:
This method for dispatching an alert message in a telecommunications network comprises a step (E20) of receiving a multimedia stream emitted by a calling device having emitted a call to a called device, and a step (E30) of transmitting to the called device, during the call setup phase, at least one part of the multimedia stream, which part can be restored, at least partially, by alert means of the called device.
Abstract:
An impedance matcher for matching the impedance of a high bit rate transmission channel of a copper-wired terminal installation comprising a high bit rate x-DSL modem (M) and a jack (P; P1; P2, P3), which automatically matches the impedance of the high bit rate transmission channel according to whether a modem is plugged into the jack of the installation or not. The impedance matcher comprises an adjustment module (10) adapted to insert a terminating impedance into the jack (P; P1, P2, P3) when it is not connected to said high bit rate modem (M), and a coupling module (20) adapted to be combined with said adjustment module (10) when said high bit rate modem (M) is connected to said jack (P; P1, P2, P3) to transform the impedance inserted into said jack to make it transparent to high bit rate transmission of broadband services.
Abstract:
An approximation graph for behaviors of the man/machine interface of an application that is obtained automatically by this method can be defined as follows: the nodes (N1, N2, N3) of the graph represent sets of screen objects encoding screens for display during execution of the application and characterized by a property in common. A screen object can be represented by one node only; the oriented arcs (α) of the graph connecting an origin node (N1) to a destination node (N3) illustrate the possibility of transiting, as the result of an event occurring, from a screen described by an object of an origin to a screen described by an object of a destination.
