The rich media service provision method includes defining scene component elements composing a rich media content and attributes of the scene component elements; calculating operation amount required to render the rich media content; generating the rich media content composed of the scene component elements and attributes, the operation amount being contained one of the scene component elements and attributes; and encoding and transmitting the rich media content.
Abstract:
A method of providing a point-to-multipoint multicast service in a communications system, wherein the multicast service provides for the transmission of data from a network element to a plurality of mobile terminals, the method comprising the steps of: transmitting a first and a second message from a network element to the plurality of terminals, wherein the first message includes a plurality of configurations for transmitting the data to the plurality of terminals, and wherein the second message includes a pointer to one of the configurations to be used for a particular multicast service, transmitting data for the particular multicast service using the one configuration.
Abstract:
A method of managing radio resources and a Node B implementing the same are provided. If the total radio resources used in a cell exceed target radio resources signaled by an RNC, uplink rates are equally allocated to primary UEs and non-primary UEs by controlling the signal strengths of the primary and non-primary UEs.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for providing a security service for UI applications in a network system. In a network supporting a user interface, encryption-unneeded data is distinguished from data in which security identifier is specified, that indicates a need for security between a server and a communication device, and the distinguished data is transmitted over a security channel and a general channel separately.
Abstract:
A multimedia broadcast/multicast service (MBMS) service and a method and apparatus for maintaining congestion and a signal transfer load of a cell at a suitable level when a session of the MBMS service is terminated in a frequency layer convergence (FLC) situation in which the MBMS service is provided in a preferred frequency layer (PL). When a session of the MBMS service is terminated, a radio network controller (RNC) determines if a cell selection is required in UEs, desiring to receive the MBMS service located in the PL cell, by using a start time of a new session and load levels of a current cell and other cells, and sends, to the UEs, explicit cell selection indication information along with session stop information according to a determination result. Therefore, the congestion and signal transfer load of the cell can be maintained in the suitable level.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for providing a broadcast service in a communication system is provided. The method includes creating a seed key pair including a first key and a second key, transmitting the seed key pair to a terminal to which the broadcast service is to be provided, creating a certain number of encryption keys using the seed key pair, the certain number corresponding to a lifetime of the seed key pair, encrypting broadcast service data for the lifetime using the encryption keys, and broadcasting the encrypted broadcast service data.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for supporting mobility in a mobile broadcasting system in which Electronic Service Guide (ESG) discovery is required. The mobility support is classified into three ways according to three different aspects. The first way is to provide roaming information for a local IPDC operator having a roaming partner among local IPDC operators. In the second way, a terminal transmits a query message for requesting transmission of information on a particular local IPDC operator, and receives information on the particular local IPDC operator in response thereto. The third way is to provide the terminal with type information of an ESG; an access type of which is classified according to provision of a roaming service. The roaming information, the information on the particular local IPDC operator and the type information of the ESG, which are provided to the terminal from the mobile broadcasting system, can be provided in an ESG bootstrap level.
Abstract:
A method for supporting backward compatibility of Multimedia Broadcast and Multicast Service (hereinafter referred to as MBMS) in a mobile communication system of Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (hereinafter referred to as WCDMA) is disclosed. An example method recites mapping relationship between the MBMS service identifier and the RAB identifier and judging the capability of the RNC by the SGSN, and accordingly, determining if the MBMS service is backwards compatible and if user equipment is compatible with different versions.
Abstract:
A control message transmitting/receiving method in an MBMS-supporting mobile communication system. In the present invention, an RNC periodically transmits control messages related to MBMS RB setup to UEs. Thus, although a UE initially fails to receive an intended MBMS service, it can set up an MBMS RB by receiving a related retransmitted control message. Also, the RNC periodically provides information about ongoing MBMS services on a cell basis so that a UE can decide whether its requested MBMS service is in progress and request information required to set up an MBMS RB for the MBMS service to the RNC by individual signaling.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for resuming header decompression by receiving multimedia broadcast/multicast service (MBMS) packet data having compressed headers in a mobile communication system providing the MBMS. The method includes the steps of detecting a moving of user equipment (UE) receiving the MBMS into a new cell from an old cell, copying and storing old header decompression context information used in the old cell, initializing a dynamic part to decompress headers of packet data for the MBMS and waiting for an IR-DYN packet until the IR-DYN packet has been received in the UE, in order to update the old header decompression information, creating a new header decompression context through updating the old header decompression information by using the IR-DYN packet when the IR-DYN packet has been received in the UE, and decompressing the headers of the packet data for the MBMS transmitted from the new cell by using the new header decompression context.
