摘要： A control message transmitting/receiving method in an MBMS-supporting mobile communication system. In the present invention, an RNC periodically transmits control messages related to MBMS RB setup to UEs. Thus, although a UE initially fails to receive an intended MBMS service, it can set up an MBMS RB by receiving a related retransmitted control message. Also, the RNC periodically provides information about ongoing MBMS services on a cell basis so that a UE can decide whether its requested MBMS service is in progress and request information required to set up an MBMS RB for the MBMS service to the RNC by individual signaling.

摘要： Disclosed is a method for resuming header decompression by receiving multimedia broadcast/multicast service (MBMS) packet data having compressed headers in a mobile communication system providing the MBMS. The method includes the steps of detecting a moving of user equipment (UE) receiving the MBMS into a new cell from an old cell, copying and storing old header decompression context information used in the old cell, initializing a dynamic part to decompress headers of packet data for the MBMS and waiting for an IR-DYN packet until the IR-DYN packet has been received in the UE, in order to update the old header decompression information, creating a new header decompression context through updating the old header decompression information by using the IR-DYN packet when the IR-DYN packet has been received in the UE, and decompressing the headers of the packet data for the MBMS transmitted from the new cell by using the new header decompression context.

摘要： An apparatus and method determines soft handover in a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) mobile communication system supporting a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS) service. In the CDMA mobile communication system supporting an MBMS service, when a User Equipment (UE) moves to a region where it can receive data from a plurality of Node Bs, the UE determines by itself whether to perform soft combining on MBMS data received from the Node Bs. Therefore, even though an MBMS user moves from an existing cell to a new cell, the MBMS service is stably provided, contributing to the convenience of the user.

摘要： A method for providing soft handover in a code division multiple access mobile communication system supporting multicast multimedia broadcast service. In an asynchronous mobile communication system supporting an MBMS service, when a UE moves to a region where it can receive data from a plurality of Node Bs, soft handover is performed on the UE. Thus, even though an MBMS user moves from an existing cell to a new cell, a stable MBMS service is provided. Furthermore, the UE can soft-combine data received from a plurality of Node Bs.

摘要： This invention provides a paging method for Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service in mobile communication system paging process and radio resource setup process are merged in this method to try to reduce uplink responses. This invention extends existing PCH IubFP frame structure by adding MBMS Indication bit(MI) to PCH IubFP frame. The PCH IubFP frame includes Paging Indication (PI) and Paging Message. Paging message carries MBMS service information. MBMS Service Identity or MBMS Paging Indicator is added to the reserved 12 bits in Paging Indicator Channel (PICH) frame structure. Radio Network Controller (RNC) transfers Paging Indicator Message and paging message to Base Station (Node B) so as to send over the air-interface.

摘要： An apparatus and method for selectively combining broadcast data packets from a plurality of cells in a user equipment (UE). A selective combiner stores a received broadcast data packet in a buffer if a sequence number of the broadcast data packet received from the plurality of cells does not fall within a reception window, and stores the received broadcast data packet in the buffer if a sequence number of the received broadcast data packet falls within the reception window but has not been stored in the buffer. The selective combiner updates the reception window if a sequence number of the received broadcast data packet does not fall within the reception window, and discards the received broadcast data packet if a sequence number of the received broadcast data packet falls within the reception window but has been stored in the buffer.

摘要： A method and apparatus for providing an MBMS (Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service) service to user equipments (UEs) that desire to receive the MBMS service, in a code division multiple access (CDMA) mobile communication system including a plurality of radio network controllers (RNCs), a plurality of SGSNs (Serving GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) Supporting Nodes) connected to each of the RNCs, and a plurality of the UEs wirelessly connectable to the RNCs, and providing the MBMS service to the UEs. The UEs request a desired MBMS service, and receive an MBMS service provided in response to the request. The RNCs transmit data related to the MBSM service to UEs wirelessly connected to thereto among UEs that requested the service. The SGSNs control a procedure related to the MBMS service for the UEs that requested the service. A default SGSN is individually designated for the MBMS service, and the default SGSN transmits MBMS data for the given MBMS service to UEs that requested the given MBMS service, through the RNCs.

The method of transferring service announcement comprises the following steps: CBC commands UTRAN connected with it by a signaling message to send service announcement; UTRAN arranges the prescribed time of sending MBMS service announcement message, adds the brief description information to the schedule message and sends the schedule message; after receiving the schedule message, UE configures physical layer thereof to prepare for receiving MBMS service announcement message. 摘要： A method for selecting a cell by a user equipment (UE) to receive a Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service (MBMS) service in a mobile communication system which supports the MBMS service with different frequency allocations (FAs) in the same area. In the method, a radio network controller (RNC) transmits information on an MBMS cell to the UE, and the MBMS cell information includes an MBMS offset for guaranteeing priority for cell reselection to the MBMS cell. The UE performs cell reselection using the MBMS cell information and receives the MBMS service from the reselected cell.
