A vehicle tailgate lift assist support structure is disclosed that includes a vehicle rear end structure, a vehicle tailgate and a lift assist device. The vehicle rear end structure includes first and second walls that extend generally perpendicular to one another. A hinge reinforcement bracket has first and second reinforcing parts. The first reinforcing part is fastened on the first wall and the second reinforcing part is fastened on the second wall. A vehicle tailgate is pivotally coupled to the hinge reinforcement bracket and the rear end structure to open and close by rotation about a tailgate pivot axis. A lift assist device is operably connected to the tailgate hinge and the vehicle rear end structure to dampen opening movement and to apply a closing torque to tailgate hinge during closing movement of the vehicle tailgate.

The safety shield is formed of an elongate L-shaped rail shield engaged to a vertical surface adjacent a vertical rail located within the interior of a garage door. An L-shaped panel shield is engaged to the interior of each garage door panel proximate to the vertical rail. The L-shaped panel shield is on the opposite side of the rail relative to the L-shaped rail shield. A generally U-shaped end covering shield may be integral or engaged to said L-shaped rail shield, where the L-shaped panel shields are positioned interior to the panel shield face side of the U-shaped end covering shield.

A door-closing assembly is used on a frameless glass door and has a body, a drive device, a mounting bracket and a holding device. The body has a mounting panel and a casing. The casing has an outer end, a transverse hole and a longitudinal hole. The longitudinal hole is formed in the outer end of the casing and communicates with the transverse hole. The drive device is mounted in the body and has a stationary post, a drive plug, a threaded plug and a spring. The stationary post is mounted inside the transverse hole. The drive plug is slidably mounted in the longitudinal hole and presses against the stationary post. The threaded plug is screwed in the longitudinal hole. The spring is held between the drive plug and the threaded plug. The mounting bracket is holds the stationary post in place. The holding device is mounted around the body.

A novel electrical floor-hinge device is provided, which contains an electrical motor and a speed reducing element configured on top of a platform element at a side on top of a body member. A vertical input shaft connected to the speed reducing element is joined to a lateral involute shaft via bevel gears. The involute shaft in turn engages a driven gear on a vertical output shaft. The top end of the output shaft is attached to a seat element whose top surface is fixedly joined to a lower inner corner of a door. By the electrical motor's driving the seat element into clockwise or counterclockwise swing, the door is closed or opened automatically. The speed reducing element can be easily replaced to fit doors of different weight.

An adhesive article for masking a door hinge includes a flexible backing layer having opposed first and second major surfaces with the backing layer first major surface being free of adhesive and the backing layer second major surface including an adhesive region and a non-adhesive region. A pad of such tape masking articles and a method of masking a door hinge using the tape masking articles are also described.

A sliding door includes a frame comprising an elongated header member having a topwall, a backwall, an intermediate wall and a bottom wall. The bottom wall and intermediate wall are engageable with sliding door panel support rollers and the bottom wall and intermediate wall are interconnected by a separate support member to distribute door panel loads between such walls. A movable cover is attached to the header member by a hinge part including spaced apart flanges and projections co-operable with projections on the header member to support the cover in open and closed positions. The door operator is supported in the header member by a single angle-shaped frame member supporting a power supply, a controller and a door operator motor. An adjustable torsion bar assembly supports the door panel against sagging.

Disclosed herein is a floor hinge. The floor hinge for doors is constructed to automatically close and open door using shock absorbers (50). The floor hinge of the present invention has a length which is considerably shorter than a conventional floor hinge, thus being light in weight, being easily transported, and remarkably enhancing manufacturability.
