Abstract: A computer-implemented method executed on a processor for outputting a smoothed photovoltaic (PV) power output from a battery of a power control system communicating with one or more microgrids is presented. The method includes curtailing an input signal received from a plurality of sensors, smoothing the input signal by employing a fuzzy logic based low pass filter having an adaptive window to generate a power reference command, applying a hard ramp rate limit to the power reference command, adjusting battery power output of the battery to satisfy battery constraints and a no-power-from-grid constraint, and distributing energy from the battery based on the adjusted battery power output.

The system includes a memory for storing program code. The system further includes a processor for running the program code to respectively assign a first, a second, and a third set of weights to a first, a second, and a third objective function formulated to minimize an ESS cost, minimize a Demand Charge (DC) cost, and maximize a Photovoltaic utilization, respectively. The processor further runs the program code to execute a multi-objective ESS optimizing engine to obtain a set of different monthly-based optimal solutions for controlling the ESS by concurrently processing the first, the second, and the third objective functions using different ones of the weights from the first, the second, and the third set of weights.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for optimizing system output in production systems, comprising. The method includes separating, by a processor, one or more initial input variables into a plurality of output variables, the output variables including environmental variables and system response variables. The method also includes building, using the processor, a nonparametric estimation that determines a relationship between one or more initial control variables and the system response variables, and estimating a global input-output mapping function, using the determined relationship, and a range of the environmental variables. The method further includes generating one or more optimal control variables from the initial control variables by maximizing the input-output mapping function and the range of the environmental variables. The method additionally includes incorporating one or more of the optimal control variables into a production system to increase production output of the production system.

Abstract: A method is provided for banking with suspicious remittance detection for a set of users. The method includes detecting, by a server having a processor operatively coupled to a memory, unrealistic user location movements, based on login activities and remittance activities. The method includes detecting abnormal user remittance behavior based on account activities and the remittance activities by detecting any users who are silent for a threshold period of time and thereafter remit an amount of money greater than a threshold money amount. The method includes detecting abnormal overall user behavior, based a joint user profile determined across all users from the login, remittance, and account activities. The method includes aggregating detection results to generate a final list of suspicious transactions. The method includes performing a loss preventative action for the suspicious transactions in the final list by preventing a completion of the suspicious transactions and notifying bank personnel.

Abstract: Systems and methods for mining and compressing commercial data including a network of point of sale devices to log commercial activity data including independent commercial events and corresponding dependent features. A middleware system is in communication with the network of point of sale devices to continuously collect and compress a stream of the commercial activity data and concurrently store the compressed commercial activity data. Compressing the stream includes a file access table corresponding to the commercial activity data, producing compressible file access templates (CFATs) according to frequent patterns of commercial activity data using the file access table, and replacing dependent feature sequences with a matching compressible file access template. A database is in communication with the middleware system to store the compressed commercial data. A commercial pattern analysis system is in communication with the database to determine patterns in commercial activities across the network of point of sale devices.
