    Abstract: Embodiments of an eNB to operate in accordance with a coverage enhancement mode are disclosed herein. The eNB may comprise hardware processing circuitry to, during a legacy sub-frame, transmit a system information block (SIB) in legacy SIB frequency resources according to a legacy SIB transmission format and refrain from transmission of channel state information reference signals (CSI-RS). The hardware processing circuitry may be further to, during a first coverage enhancement sub-frame, transmit a first portion of the SIB in first SIB frequency resources included in the legacy SIB frequency resources. The hardware processing circuitry may be further to, during a first coverage enhancement sub-frame, transmit a first set of CSI-RS in first CSI-RS frequency resources that include at least a portion of the legacy SIB frequency resources.

    Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE) and methods of communication are generally described herein. If a higher layer parameter altMCS-Table is configured, and a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) is assigned by a downlink control information (DCI) format 1, 1B, 1D, 2, 2A, 2B, 2C, or 2D, the UE may, for some subframe/frame configurations, determine a number of physical resource blocks (PRBs) for the transport block as a maximum of: 1; and a floor function applied to a product of a total number of allocated PRBs, a parameter dependent on a special subframe configuration, and a scaling parameter. For other subframe/frame configurations, the UE may determine the number of PRBs for the transport block as a maximum of: 1; and the floor function applied to a product of the total number of allocated PRBs and the scaling parameter.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may receive information, via radio resource control (RRC) signaling, regarding a search space of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) for obtaining downlink control information (DCI) from a radio access network (RAN) node. Based on a slot format (SF) index in the DCI, the UE may determine a slot format for communicating with the RAN node, and communicate with the RAN node in accordance with the slot format. Additionally, a UE may communicate UE capability information, which may include a maximum number of blind decode attempts (BDAs), to the RAN node. The UE may determine shortened channel control elements (sCCEs) to be used, by the RAN node, to transmit shortened downlink control information (sDCI) via a shortened physical downlink control channel (sPDCCH), obtain sDCI by monitoring the sPDCCH in accordance with the determined sCCEs, and communicate with the RAN node in accordance with the sDCI.
