    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some aspects, a network entity may encode, at an application layer, multiple internet protocol (IP) packets with an application level outer code to generate outer encoded IP packets. In such aspects, the network entity may generate, for each of the outer encoded IP packets, a medium access control (MAC) packet data unit (PDU) at a MAC layer. In one aspect, the network entity may map each MAC PDU to a respective code block of a single transport block (TB) and broadcast the TB. Alternatively, the network entity may map each MAC PDU to a single codeblock of a respective TB and broadcast the TB via a single time slot. In some other aspects, the network entity may perform physical or MAC layer outer encoding on the IP packets, where the network entity may perform outer encoding on multiple MAC PDUs.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for indicating device capabilities and/or device type or category, such as UE-to-UE direct communications via a PC5 interface, for aircraft-to-everything (A2X) communications. An A2X configuration may be provided that allows aerial UEs, such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to indicate support for specific A2X functions. A2X functionalities may indicate support for transmit and receive communications, receive-only communications, or transmit-only communications. UE capability for A2X communications may be provided using one or more A2X-specific capability bits in a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) capability report or a sidelink capability report, that may individually or jointly indicate support for broadcast remote identification (BRID) transmissions, detect-and-avoid (DAA) transmissions, both, and/or other A2X communications. Further, a UAV may report one or more access link capabilities related to UAVs.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A device may receive a set of demodulation reference signals (DMRSs) over a multi-path channel on a set of resources in accordance with a reference signal pattern. The reference signal pattern may be associated with a non-uniform frequency spacing that results in a row-sampled Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) matrix associated with the reference signal pattern having a lower coherence than other row-sampled DFT matrices. Additionally or alternatively, the device may receive a set of tracking reference signals (TRSs) over the multi-path channel. The set of TRSs may be specific to wide-area terrestrial broadcast services, single frequency network (SFN)-based broadcast services, multimedia broadcast multicast services (MBMSs), or the reference signal pattern. The device may perform channel estimation based on receiving one or both of the set of DMRSs or the set of TRSs over the multi-path channel.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, components, devices and systems for enhanced downlink and uplink scheduling based on assistance information related to PDCP status reports. Some aspects specifically relate to a wireless communication system including a disaggregated base station architecture in which a CU provides a DU assistance information related to PDCP status reports from which assistance information the DU may determine appropriate downlink or uplink scheduling start timing for a UE. In some examples, the DU obtains from the CU assistance information indicating an unreceived PDCP SDU at a UE or the CU, and sends downlink data or an uplink grant to the UE based on the assistance information. The CU may deliver the downlink data to the DU prior to sending the assistance information or obtain uplink data from the DU after sending the assistance information. Duplication of PDCP SDU transmissions and unnecessarily extended scheduling delays may thus be minimized.

In some examples, a user equipment (UE) may receive a control message indicating one or more parameters associated with selecting one or more cells. The UE may select one or more first cells to monitor for a paging message based on the one or more parameters and may monitor the one or more first cells for the paging message in an idle mode, inactive mode, or any non-connected mode based on the selection. Additionally, the UE may select one of the one or more first cells or a second cell to establish a connection based on monitoring for the paging message and may establish the connection with the one of the one or more first cells or the second cell based on the selection.
