    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may determine to enable orbital angular momentum (OAM) beamforming for communications with a user equipment (UE), for example, based on one or more communications parameters and receiving a message from the UE indicating a capability of the UE to use OAM beamforming. The base station may transmit control signaling to the UE indicating that OAM beamforming is enabled. In some examples, the base station may transmit control signaling indicating an OAM configuration, which may be for a same slot in which the control signaling is transmitted or a subsequent slot. The base station may transmit a downlink transmission to the UE via OAM beamforming. In some examples, the base station may estimate and correct misalignment associated with OAM beamforming. In some examples, the base station may disable OAM beamforming and transmit an indication that OAM beamforming is disabled.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A first device may transmit an indication of a first set of signal strength metrics for signal strengths of transmit beams of a second device using receive beams of the first device and a second set of signal strength metrics for signal strengths of transmit beams of the first device using the receive beams of the first device. The first device may determine, for one or more signal strength metrics in the first set of signal strength metrics, the second set of signal strength metrics, or both, a change in the corresponding signal strength. The first device may transmit, based at least in part on the determining, an indication of the change in the corresponding signal strength for each of the one or more signal strength metrics.

    Abstract: Aspects relate to assisted beam management between frequency bands that each utilize spatially directional beams. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to receive a plurality of first transmit beams on each of a plurality of first receive beams within a first frequency band to select at least one first beam pair link in the first frequency band. The UE may then receive a plurality of second transmit beams on each of a plurality of second receive beams within a second frequency band different than the first frequency band to select a second beam pair link in the second frequency band on which to communicate with a transmission and reception point. Each of the second transmit or receive beams has a respective spatial direction within a spatial direction of at least one of the first transmit or receive beams of the first beam pair links.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first device (e.g., user equipment (UE), base station) may determine a condition of a channel between the first device and a second device (e.g., UE, base station). The first device may apply pre-equalization to the signal based on one or more pre-equalization parameters. The one or more pre-equalization parameters may be based on the condition of the channel. The first device may transmit, to the second device, or a third device (e.g., UE, base station), or both, a report indicating the one or more pre-equalization parameters associated with the pre-equalized signal. The first device may transmit, to the second device, the pre-equalized signal over the channel. The second device may decode the pre-equalized signal based on the report. The third device may receive the pre-equalized signal and perform interference cancelation procedures to the pre-equalized signal based on the report.
