Abstract:
A kingpin-free caster in which a plate is assembled onto a yoke with ball bearings therebetween and the plate is deformed in place upon the yoke to capture the ball bearings between the yoke and plate and couple the yoke and plate together against removal.
Abstract:
A furniture glide is provided for mounting on a terminal end of a furniture leg. The furniture glide includes a slider having an upper surface and a generally arcuate lower surface for engaging a supporting surface. A generally tubular fastener extends from the upper surface of the slider and is receivable in the terminal end of the furniture leg for frictionally connecting the furniture glide to the furniture leg. A spacing element may be positioned on the upper surface of the slider for spacing the upper surface of the slider from the furniture leg.
Abstract:
A disposable mobile shopping bag that can be readily assembled, and can bear loads well is. The mobile shopping bag is composed of an ordinary shopping sack, a disposable platform insert and press-fitting wheel assemblies. When opened the sack accommodates the inserted platform on base of the sack interior. The platform has press-fitting holes in positions appropriate for holding the wheel assemblies. Press-fitting mounts project from the tops of the wheel assembly forks. To put the mobile shopping bag together, the press-fitting mounts are pressed against the exterior of the bottom of the sack over the respective holes in the platform, into which they are then inserted.
Abstract:
A caster with a stem extending upwards from a base and defining a stem axis and wherein the stem has a hole having a circumference defined by an internal threading for fastening to a correspondingly externally threaded fastener; a bearing for interconnecting said base and said stem such that said base is free to rotate about said stem axis; wherein at least a part of the external surface of the upper end of said stem has a shape that inhibits rotation of the stem when inserted into a correspondingly shaped bore hole, wherein said shape is defined by a curved surface or planar surface or a combination thereof; and wherein the curve or planar surface does not intersect the circumference defined by the internal threading.
Abstract:
A new and distinct variety of Vriesea plant resulting as a spontaneous somoclonal variation among propagules of 'Christiane' from tissue culture. This new plant, named 'Cathy', is characterized by having good vigor and an inflorescence of a dark reddish purple, deepening to near black as the blooming plant ages, rather than the usual brilliant red of the parent Vriesea 'Christinae'. With the exception of the coloration of the inflorescence, the newly discovered sport 'Cathy', is phenotypically similar to the parent variety 'Christiane'.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a fastener system comprising a male or stud element with a split or bifurcated head, forming two prongs, that fits inside a female or socket sleeve. Inside the socket sleeve is an internal annular ring of a smaller diameter. The stud prongs deflect radially inwardly when pushed into contact with the internal ring until the prongs pass the ring at which point they deflect radially outwardly and lock the male member within the sleeve. This locking action allows for a variety of items to be clamped together along the length of the rivet sleeve provided that at each end of the rivet there is a head of larger diameter than that of the sleeve. Each head can be replaced by any number of integrally molded items requiring a locking/mating action or where locking and rotation is desired.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a wheel unit for a slidable infant chair. The characteristic of this invention is in that there is a rod cap positioned at the upper part of the wheel unit. The rod cap has a hollow for receiving in a rod. There are two opposite U-shape cut, whose interiors become two elastic fragments, positioned in the upper side wall of the rod cap. The lower side wall of the rod cap is attached by a flanged annulus, which has fine projecting stripes around the side surface and has a splintery upward surface. In assemblage, first, insert a rod into the hollows of a rod supporter and the rod cap so as to assemble them. Then, insert the upper part of the assembled wheel unit into a fixing sleeve under an annular frame of a slidable infant chair, with the condition that the two opposite U-shape fragments spring outward for the wheel unit to be fixed in the fixing sleeve.
Abstract:
An apparatus for securing a caster to an object having a hole with interior walls has a tubular body with upper and lower ends, the lower end being adapted to connect to a caster and the upper end being split and defining at least two upwardly extending friction grip arms, the upper end of each arm defining an outwardly extending friction grip portion and the outer dimension defined by all of the friction grip portions being slightly larger than the minimum corresponding dimension of the hole.
Abstract:
An expander device for anchoring in a hole to secure a castor to a part which forms the hole, comprises a conical expander engaged in a sleeve having a conical interior. The expander and the sleeve are mouldings of reinforced plastics material. The expander is screwed onto a coaxial bolt with a 3-start thread. The sleeve is axially slotted from either end, the slots from one end being angularly spaced from one another by 90.degree. as are the other slots with which they are assymetrical so that alternate major and minor sleeve portions are formed between adjacent slots. Deformation takes place predominantly in the minor portions as the sleeve is expanded by axial movement of the conical expander into the internal taper of the sleeve which is caused by rotation of the bolt.
Abstract:
A heavy-duty caster assembly with a pintle and swivel plate mounted on top of a wheel carrying horn that minimizes pintle bending and breaking with the addition of a powdered metal washer around the pintle locked on top of the swivel plate.
