Abstract: A behind-the-wall optical connector an outer housing configured to be inserted into an adapter with a corresponding inner surface, a ferrule included in an annular collar to mate with a corresponding projection at an adapter opening, and a latch attached to one side of housing configured to lock the connecter into an adapter opening. The latch is further configured with a locking channel and guide to accept a pull tab with a catch at one end, the pull tab releases the connector from the adapter opening when the tab is pulled rearward or away from the adapter.

Abstract: A fiber array device configured to secure and align one or more optical fiber bundles as part of a main body using a fixing material. Abstract: Reduced-profile connection components are described. The reduced-profile connection components are configured to connect various data transmission elements, including cables, network devices, and computing devices. A non-limiting example of a connection component includes a fiber optic connection component, including connectors, adapters, and assemblies formed therefrom. In some embodiments, the connection components may include mechanical transfer (MT) and multi-fiber push-on/pull-off (MPO) connection components, such as MT ferrules and MPO adapters. The reduced-profile connection components configured according to some embodiments have a smaller profile and/or require less parts to achieve a connection compared to conventional connection components. In some embodiments, the reduced-profile connection components may be used with conventional connection components. For example a reduced-profile connector may use a conventional MT ferrule to establish a connection within a conventional MPG adapter.

Abstract: A fiber optic adapter for mating a multi-fiber optic ferrule connector and a multi-fiber optic connector. Abstract: A lockable dust cap is inserted over a proximal end of an adapter assembly. The lockable dust cap has locking arms that secured the dust cap hub to the proximal end of the adapter assembly, and a grip portion that when rotated from an unlocked “0” or locked “1” position the dust cap is secured at the proximal end of the adapter. The dust cap is ingress protected with a seal and polymer shroud that covers the proximal end of the adapter. This helps to prevent moisture or debris ingress into the adapter assembly.
