Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of transmitting data units by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system. Especially, the method includes the steps of transmitting at least first one data unit in a Radio Resource Control (RRC) CONNECTED state with a sequence number for the RRC CONNECTED state; receiving a RRC INACTIVE transition command with an initial sequence number for data transmission in a RRC INACTIVE state; setting a sequence number for the RRC INACTIVE state as the initial sequence number; and transmitting at least one second data unit in the RRC INACTIVE state with the sequence number for the RRC INACTIVE state, wherein the sequence number for the RRC INACTIVE state is incremented by 1 for every second data unit.

Abstract: In the present disclosure, a UE transmits a random access preamble (RAP) on a physical random access channel (PRACH) and a common control channel (CCCH) service data unit (SDU) on a physical uplink channel (PUSCH). The UE receives a medium access control (MAC) protocol data unit (PDU) based on transmitting the RAP and the CCCH SDU. The MAC PDU may include a MAC PDU associated with a contention resolution identity (CRID) in the MAC PDU. The UE determines whether a MAC SDU is present or not in the MAC PDU, based on the MAC SDU indicator associated with a CRID in the MAC PDU in a state in which the CRID matches the CCCH SDU.

If the UE receives a message indicating to leave RRC_CONNECTED state, the UE starts a time alignment timer (I-TAT) when the UE leaves RRC_CONNECTED state. The UE transmits UL data using the UL grant if the UL data becomes available for transmission when the UE is not in RRC_CONNECTED state and if the I-TAT is running.
