    Abstract: A method used to predict a strength of an ultrasonic weld-joint of a wire-cable comprising the steps of providing a wire-cable, determining a combined-weight, removing a contaminant, determining a weight, determining a percentage by weight of the contaminant, and determining whether the percentage by weight of contaminant is less than a threshold. Determining the percentage by weight of the contaminant removed from the wire-cable is based on a formula [(Mb−Ma)/Mb]*100, where Mb is the combined-weight of the wire-cable and the contaminant and Ma is the weight of the wire-cable. The threshold of the percentage by weight of the contaminant correlates to the strength of the ultrasonic weld-joint.

    Abstract: A connector assembly includes a first-connector-housing, an inner-housing, a terminal-stabilizer, and a second-connector-housing. The inner-housing is disposed within a cavity defined by the first-connector-housing. The inner-housing includes an opposed flexible-lock moveable from a locked-position to an unlocked-position. The terminal-stabilizer is disposed within the cavity and is movable from a pre-stage-position to a seated-position. The terminal-stabilizer defines a stop configured to engage an end of the opposed flexible-lock when the opposed flexible-lock is in the locked-position. The second-connector-housing includes an unlocking-feature configured to move the opposed flexible-lock from the locked-position to the unlocked-position. When the second-connector-housing is mated with the first-connector-housing the unlocking-feature moves the opposed flexible-lock to the unlocked-position, whereby the stop on the terminal-stabilizer moves past the opposed flexible-lock and the second-connector-housing moves the terminal-stabilizer from the pre-stage-position to the seated-position.

    Abstract: An automated vehicle radar system capable of self-calibration includes an antenna, a transceiver, and a controller. The antenna broadcasts a radar-signal and detects a reflected-signal reflected by an object. The transceiver determines a distance, an angle, and a range-rate of the object relative to the antenna based on the radar-signal and the reflected-signal. The controller determines a speed of a host-vehicle; determines when the object is stationary based on the speed, the angle, and the range-rate; stores in a memory a plurality of detections that correspond to multiple instances of the distance, the angle, and the range-rate as the host-vehicle travels by the object; selects an ideal-response of angle versus range-rate based on the speed; determines a calibration-matrix of the system based on a difference between the plurality of detections and the ideal-response; and adjusts an indicated-angle to a subsequent-object in accordance with the calibration-matrix.

    Abstract: A connector assembly including a connector housing having a plug-in portion and two primary latching arms arranged on opposite sides of the plug-in portion. Secondary locking means are connected to the connector housing and movable relative to the connector housing from an open position to a locked position. The locking means includes blocking arms configured to block a release movement of the latching arms when the locking means is in its locked position. The secondary locking means has two separate locking members each of which is connected to one of the primary latching arms to block a release movement of the assigned latching arm. Each of the two separate locking members is configured to be independently moveable between the open position and the locked position. Each locking member comprise actuating release handles to allow an un-latching of the actuating arms. The release handles are arranged adjacent to each other.

    Abstract: An object tracking system suitable for use on an automated vehicle includes a camera, a radar-sensor and a controller. The controller is configured to assign a vision-identification to each vision-track associated with an instance of an object detected using the camera, and assign a radar-identification to each radar-glob associated with an instance of grouped-tracklets indicated detected using the radar-sensor. The controller is further configured to determine probabilities that a vision-track and a radar-glob indicate the same object. If the combination has a reasonable chance of matching it is includes in a further screening of the data to determine a combination of pairings of each vision-track to a radar-track that has the greatest probability of being the correct combination.

    Abstract: A method to enable a vehicle's embedded USB Host system to connect to multiple mobile devices through a USB Hub, regardless of whether the mobile devices are configured to act as USB Hosts or USB Devices, without OTG controllers or additional vehicle wiring, or inhibiting the functionality of any consumer devices connected to the same USB Hub. Preferably, the method is configured to provide that no additional cabling is required, and no hardware changes are required to be made to the HU. The method can be employed between a vehicle's embedded USB Host, USB Hub and at least one consumer accessible USB port. In the case where the consumer device is acting as a USB Host, signals between the consumer device and the vehicle's embedded USB Host are processed through a USB bridge, thereby rendering the consumer device compatible with the vehicle's embedded USB Host.
