Abstract: A diagnostic server software component for an automated banking machine is provided. The diagnostic server is operative to periodically retrieve diagnostic messages from a nonvolatile memory of the machine and store the diagnostic messages on the hard drive of the machine. The software is further operative responsive to communication from an external computing device to send diagnostic messages stored on the hard drive to an external computing device. The software may further be operative to route transaction diagnostic messages between the machine and a remote host banking system. The software may retrieve the diagnostic messages directly from a specified memory address of the nonvolatile memory. The software may periodically communicate with terminal control software of the machine to cause the terminal control software to retrieve the diagnostic messages from the nonvolatile memory.

Abstract: A communication protocol proxy enables a CEBus network to be mapped across a non-CEBus network, thereby allowing a remotely located node (e.g., a controller) to communicate via a non-CEBus network with electronic devices connected to the CEBus network, while still conforming with the EIA/IS-60 protocol requirements. In a preferred embodiment, a proxy node is provided on a CEBus network, wherein the proxy node is also connected to a non-CEBus network, (e.g., a wide area network ("WAN")), such that a remotely located controller on the non-CEBus network may communicate with a device on the CEBus network by transmitting messages to the proxy node over the non-CEBus network. The proxy node then forwards the message to the respective CEBus device over the CEBus network. If the message requires a CEBus Ack message response, the CEBus device transmits a CEBus Ack message to the proxy node, so that it is received within the time interval specified by the CEBus standard. On receiving the CEBus Ack message, the proxy node transmits a non-CEBus standard acknowledge message to the controller, which can be received over an extended time interval. If the message does not require a CEBus Ack message response, the proxy node still transmits a non-CEBus standard acknowledge message to the controller in order to verify receipt of the message.

Abstract: A process for preparing simvastatin from lovastatin or mevinolinic acid in salt form comprises treating either starting material with cyclopropyl or butyl amine, the pyranone ring thereby being opened when lovastatin is the starting material, adding a methyl group to the 2-methylbutyrate side chain, and thereafter closing the open pyranone ring to produce simvastatin. Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods of conductively coupling a plurality of relatively physically small core dies to a relatively physically larger base die using an electrical mesh network that is formed in whole or in part in, on, across, or about all or a portion of the base die. Electrical mesh networks beneficially permit the positioning of the cores in close proximity to support circuitry carried by the base die. The minimal separation between the core circuitry and the support circuitry advantageously improves communication bandwidth while reducing power consumption. Each of the cores may include functionally dedicated circuitry such as processor core circuitry, field programmable logic, memory, or graphics processing circuitry. The use of core dies beneficially and advantageously permits the use of a wide variety of cores, each having a common or similar interface to the electrical mesh network.
