Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a single platform that provides controller functionality for each of security, monitoring and automation, as well as providing a capacity to function as a bidirectional internet gateway. Embodiments of the present invention provide such functionality by virtue of a configurable architecture that enables a user to adapt the system for the user's specific needs. Embodiments of the present invention further provide for a software-based installation workflow to activate and provision the controller and associated sensors and network. Embodiments of the present invention also provide for downloading of previously-stored configuration data to the controller from a remote server, and for activation and provisioning of the controller from the previously-stored configuration data.

Abstract: Methods and systems for managing a premises are described. A gateway device may monitor a plurality of devices at a premises. A mobile device may receive, from the gateway device, data indicative of one or more events of the plurality of devices. The mobile device may output a user interface comprising status information associated with the plurality of devices. The user interface may allow for user input to generate control operations associated with the premises.

Abstract: Systems and methods of managing appliances distributed throughout a geographic area enable control of the appliances in response to regionally localized events. An asset management server determines the location of the appliances throughout the geographic area and issues commands to appliances in a specified region which cause the appliances to change local control parameters to address the event. An asset management server also receives operating data from the appliances and uses the operating data to determine when regional events are occurring based on localized anomalies in the operating data. Refrigeration appliances have GPS receivers so that the locations of the appliances in the geographic area can be verified. Further, refrigeration appliances have primary and secondary operating modes. Secondary operating modes may be address certain regional events that can occur from time to time.

Abstract: Doorbells often include a button to enable visitors to ring a chime to summon building occupants. In some embodiments, doorbells include a camera to take pictures of visitors. In several embodiments, doorbells include covers that are light filters. These light filters can cover infrared light sources such as infrared light emitting diodes. The light filters can pass infrared light while blocking visible light. In several embodiments, a front portion of a camera assembly fits through a hole in a light filter. Light filters can help secure camera assemblies and can form a portion of a doorbell's outer housing.

Abstract: A smart home hub may receive sensor information from a plurality of smart home objects (e.g., a laundry washing machine, an electricity power meter, etc.). The smart home hub may also generate smart home events based on the received sensor information. A central management plane component associated with a cloud-native application runtime may communicate with the smart home hub. The system may receive smart home events from the hub and, responsive to the received, arrange to execute smart home functions via a cloud infrastructure. For example, a function may arrange to reduce the cost of operating a smart washing machine. As a result of execution of at least one smart home function, the system may transmit a smart home response to the hub causing at least one of the smart home objects to perform a task (e.g., the washing machine may automatically run when the cost of electricity is low).

Abstract: An information processing method executed by a computer to control notification by a plurality of terminals (first terminal and second terminal) associated with an appliance includes: obtaining information defining, for each state of a plurality of possible states of the appliance, whether the state is a predetermined state that requires the notification by all of the first terminal and the second terminal; obtaining a state of the appliance; determining whether the state of the appliance obtained is the predetermined state; performing control to cause all of the first terminal and the second terminal to make the notification, when it is determined that the state of the appliance is the predetermined state; and performing control to cause a specific terminal out of the first terminal and the second terminal to make the notification, when it is determined that the state of the appliance is not the predetermined state.
