摘要： An RFID wristband incorporates identification circuitry which may be of a read only, a read/write, a passive, or an active configuration. The wristband consists of a plurality of laminae which bear components of the RFID circuitry and which encapsulate said circuitry upon the securement or adherence of said laminae to each or one another. The wristband is incorporated in an identification system particularly adapted for hospital patient identification and is associated with an RFID reader which generates a magnetic signal requesting identification from the wristband. The wristband is automatically assembled by the utilization of at least two laminae of a polymorphic flexible nature to encapsulate the RFID circuit and includes the utilization of polymeric in conductive components in said circuit. The method of assembling the RFID components with the respective laminae results in the complete isolation of the RFID circuit from contact with deleterious and corrosive substances characteristic of hospital environments.

摘要： A method for forming a plurality of holes, creating profiles, in a plurality of vinyl layers using a hollow portion of an RF sealing die and for removing the profiles from the die using a base plate punch and a removal means. The method includes providing a base plate support having a first hole for receiving the punch and a support surface, stacking the layers into a stack on the surface over the first hole where there is provided under the stack a layer of dielectric material having a receiving hole symmetrically aligned with the first hole, pressing the die through each of the layers of the stack to form the profiles received within the hollow portion of the die and to seal together portions of the layers of vinyl material which surround the outer surface of the die, sliding the punch through the first receiving holes and into the hollow portion of the die to push the profiles further into the die where the diameter of the receiving hole is substantially the same as the diameter of the punch to minimize the area between the punch and the dielectric material as the punch passes through the receiving hole and into the contact with the profiles to prevent arcing of the profiles during movement of the profiles through the die, and removing the profiles from the die using a removal means connected to the die.

摘要： Systems and methods include tamper-evident indicators applied to a band comprising a strap that forms a closed loop. Tamper-evident sections of the indicators provide increased security against accidental and intentional removal of the indicators. Indicators are provided with adhesives and bare areas devoid of adhesive allowing easy and secure application of indicators to bands while they are being worn and with greater ease. Indicators can be further provided with liners protecting the adhesives allowing the indicators to be easily applied by gloved hands, reducing contamination risks. Contamination and wear risks can be further reduced by supplying indicators with antimicrobial surfaces and overprint varnishing.
