Abstract:
A system for notifying and/or warning of fallen or downed insulated conductor generally includes a distribution system for distributing a utility, such as power, and a sensor system for sensing whether the distribution system is properly operating. The warning system can include a support structure; an arm carried by the support structure and extending outwardly therefrom; a distribution system providing a utility via at least one wire, the wire held aloft from a below surface via the arm; a communication cable transmitting a signal; a disruption assembly carrying the communication cable and in communication with the support structure. The disruption assembly is loaded with the potential of disrupting the signal transmitted by the communication cable; and a sensor system is adapted to monitor the distribution system based on the signal transmitted by the communication cable.
Abstract:
The present invention provides systems and methods of portable oil filtration. In an exemplary embodiment, the portable oil filtration system has a portable device body. Mounted on this portable device body are a motor, a pump, an input valve, an output valve, and a filtration device. Additionally, the portable device body is enabled to be carried by a user.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a compressible bladder for easing the process of opening a pressure-sealed chamber. The valve comprises a valve body having an interior, wherein media is adapted to flow therethrough; a bonnet defining a chamber carried by the valve body; a plug having a first position and a second position, wherein the plug prohibits media to flow through the valve body in the first position, and the plug does not prohibit media to flow through the valve body in the second position; an elongated stem adapted to move the plug between the two positions, wherein the stem is positioned between the valve body and the bonnet; and a compressible bladder positioned in the chamber of the bonnet adapted to compress upon an increase of pressure within the chamber of the bonnet.
Abstract:
A non-boring support system, or a temporary arm gain, is described. The support system enables attaching a supporting arm to an existing utility pole. The support system can include a securing assembly and a mounting member. The securing assembly can define an aperture sufficiently large enough to receive and secure the supporting arm. The mounting member can be adapted to mount the securing assembly to the utility pole.
Abstract:
A device adapted to support a jumper wire during maintenance or repairs to various elements associated with the suspension and switching of electrical power conductors on both transmission and distribution power grids. The device comprises two members of various shapes, pinned together in opposition with a pivot, to allow the opening and closing of said clamping system. The device can be manufactured of many materials in order to meet specific strength or dielectric requirements. Additionally, the shape of the device can be optimized to support a variety of objects.
Abstract:
An exemplary embodiment of the present invention provides a torque transfer system. The torque transfer system can comprise a shaft coupled to a gearbox, and the gearbox can impart torque to the shaft. The torque transfer system can further comprise an adaptor engaged with the shaft and having a hollow center. An output table can also be engaged with the adaptor. A plug can be disposed within the hollow center of the adaptor.
Abstract:
A bushing assembly including a first bushing element, a second bushing element, and a locking subsystem. The first bushing element has a first end, a second end, a first outer surface with a first outer diameter, a first inner surface defining a first channel, and a first flange positioned proximate the first. The second bushing element has a first end, a second end, a second inner surface having a second inner diameter greater than the first outer diameter, a second outer surface, and a second flange positioned proximate the second end. The second inner surface defines a second channel that receives a portion of the first bushing element. The locking subsystem is proximate the first end of the first bushing element and secures the first bushing element to the second bushing element.
Abstract:
A support system for transmission lines includes a base plate, a securing assembly, and a supporting arm. The base plate is secured to the transmission line pole with the securing assembly. The supporting arm can include an insulating apparatus; the insulator apparatus of the supporting arm is adapted to provide a safe dielectric distance from the transmission power line and the transmission line structure, e.g., power pole. A first end of the supporting arm is carried by a mounting member and is connected to the transmission line pole via the base plate, while the second end can receive a conductor with a connector. The connector is adapted to secure a conductor, and is positioned at the second end of the insulator apparatus.

A fall arrest system adapted to prevent falls while climbing structures. A fall arrest system adapted to prevent lineman from falling from power poles during maintenance or repairs to various elements associated with the suspension and switching on transmission and/or distribution power grids. The system can comprise a safety belt type device comprising an inner strap assembly and an outer strap assembly for encircling a structure to be climbed. The system can comprise many materials in order to meet certain criteria, such as strength and/or stiffness. Additionally, the system can be easily manipulated as the user climbs up or down the structure to maintain the proper angle of the belt with respect to the user.
