Abstract: A steel armor plate and method of manufacturing is described. The armor plate has three curves, a first curve about an axis that parallels the length of the armor plate, and two additional curves about axes that parallel the width of the armor plate. A die for manufacturing said plate is described, the die being formed of a stack of metal plates, each plate having a curve that substantially matches the first curve, the stack of plates being arranged in a step-down-then-step-up fashion to form a concavity that approximates one of the two additional curves.

Abstract: A composite case for an electronic device is provided. The composite case includes: a resilient portion dimensioned to cover two end portions of the electronic device and less than half of a back portion of the electronic device; and a rigid portion dimensioned to fit with the resilient portion, the rigid portion dimensioned to provide a cover for at least part of the back portion of the electronic device. A method of protecting an electronic device is provided. The method includes: attaching a rigid material to a resilient material; dimensioning both the rigid material and the resilient material to contain an electronic device; configuring the rigid material, but not the resilient material, to cover most or all of a back portion of the electronic device; and providing an opening to allow a screen portion of the electronic device to be accessed through the opening in the rigid and resilient material.

Abstract: An automated can adjustment system for a can cleaning system and associated method is disclosed. The automated can adjustment system can store different stage height information corresponding to various cans with different heights in a controller. The stage height information corresponding to the different can heights is associated with and recallable by various preset buttons operatively coupled with the controller. The controller is configured to communicate with the one or more drive mechanisms to adjust one or more stage heights based on the stage height information recalled when a particular preset button is selected. Different stage heights may be changed by then selecting a different preset button associated with a can having a different height.

Abstract: A ballistic resistant panel can be configured to be quickly and easily installed in a vehicle door. The ballistic resistant panel can include a plurality of ballistic sheets arranged in a stack. The stack can have an outer perimeter sized to fit within a cavity of the vehicle door. The panel can include a cover disposed over the stack, and the cover can be sealed around a perimeter of the stack to form a waterproof barrier that prevents moisture from reaching and altering the performance of the ballistic sheets. At least one anti-wear strip can be adhered to an outer surface of the cover. The anti-wear strip can provide a low friction surface that protects the panel from damage caused by moving internal door components, such as moving window components that repeatedly rub against the panel.
