A method for providing a content download service and a terminal apparatus applying the method are provided in which the terminal apparatus transmits terminal apparatus information to a first server, the first server transmits the received terminal apparatus information to a second server, and the second server receives a download request for predetermined content based on the received terminal apparatus information. Therefore, it is possible for a user to access the second server and check the terminal apparatus information, even though the terminal apparatus is powered off.

A cache method and a cache system for storing file's data in memory blocks divided from a cache memory are disclosed. The cache method for storing data of a file in memory blocks divided from a cache memory includes: receiving a request command for first data of a first file from an application; retrieving a memory block that stores the first data; setting reference information which indicates that the memory block storing the first data is referred to by the application; transmitting the first data stored in the memory block to the application; and resetting the reference information for the memory block that stores the first data.

Provided is a service access control system using an embedded browser agent. The service access control system includes: a server providing an Internet protocol service; and a browser agent including device information and service information and controlling the access of a device to the server. When the service access control system is used, device dependence can be minimized in an embedded browser-based IPTV service, and the IPTV service can be freely used by utilizing only a browser.

An Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) capable of auto channel setting and a method thereof are provided. A channel information generating unit converts summaries of a plurality of web contents provided through the Internet into channel information as required by channel listing, and allocates channel numbers to the plurality of web contents, and a storage unit stores the allocated channel numbers and the generated channel information.
Abstract:
A user terminal and proxy server of an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), and an operating method thereof are provided. A user terminal of an IPTV system includes a channel information input unit which receives channel information as an input, a channel management unit which transmits the input channel information to a proxy server, and receives from the proxy server a content information that corresponds to the channel information, and a content playback unit which replays a content using the received content information. As a result, viewers can use IPTV contents as easily as they use general TVs.

A portable storage device, a system, and a method for an automatic software installation, the portable storage device including: an interface to connect to an external device to transmit and/or to receive data to/from the external device; a memory to store a setup program to install, in the external device, a main software required to connect the portable storage device to the external device; and a controller to control the interface to transmit the setup program to the external device when the interface is connected to the external device, wherein the setup program is transmitted to the external device and automatically run in the external device. Accordingly, when the portable storage device is connected to the external device, the software can be automatically installed by auto-running the setup program internally stored to the portable storage device.

Disclosed are a server, a device accessing the server and a control method thereof, the server for single sign on including: a storage unit which stores user information of a second device; and a controller which identifies a second device which is accessed by a same user as a user of a first device and which stores account information, if the first device requests the account information for a content provider. With this configuration, there are provided a server which shares account information for a content provider, a device accessing the server and a control method thereof.

A program-based electronic program guide (EPG) system is provided, the EPG system including a search unit which searches for and finds programs broadcast within a predetermined time period around a predetermined time, a collection unit which collects program information of programs found by the search unit, a classification unit which classifies the program information collected by the collection unit based on program codes, and a display unit which displays program guide information, including the program information classified by the classification unit.
