The spindle lock includes a spring and a detent arrangement to control and buffer the rotation of the spindle and to delay the engagement of the locking elements. In some aspects, the invention provides a spindle lock including a spring element which applies substantially equal spring force to delay the operation of the spindle lock when the spindle is rotated in the forward direction or in the reverse direction. In some aspects, the invention provides two spring members which cooperate to apply the substantially equal force to delay the operation of the spindle lock when the spindle is rotated in the forward direction or in the reverse direction.

    摘要: A clamping screw for holding a tool to a threaded shaft is provided with a body member having a threaded surface for engagement with the threaded shaft. A flange ring is disposed about the body member and clampingly engages the tool when the body is threaded onto the shaft in engagement with the tool. An operating ring is rotatably disposed about the body member and retained from movement axially away from the flange ring. A torque increasing mechanism is operatively disposed about the body member between the operating ring and the flange ring and is configured to transmit torque from the operating ring to the body member. The torque increasing mechanism includes a first inclined cam surface disposed on the operating ring, a cam ring axially movably disposed but rotationally fixed about the body member, a second inclined cam surface disposed on the cam ring opposite to and corresponding to the first inclined surface, and a bearing supported on a retainer and disposed between the first inclined cam surface and the second inclined cam surface. The operating ring is rotatable with respect to the cam ring so that rotation of the operating ring applies torque and axial force to the cam ring through the bearing. A spring is operatively disposed between the cam ring and the operating ring and biases the cam ring toward an initial position with respect to the operating ring.

    摘要: In construction of a tool chuck in which manual rotation of an outer operation sleeve causes concurrent rotation of an inner screw ring to move clamping jaws in a chuck body following the principle of screw feeding, a solid lubrication coating layer is interposed between the screw ring and the chuck body so as to minimize friction between the two elements during their relative rotation for clamping a tool via the jaws, thereby effectively utilizing input torque from the operation sleeve for clamping operation. The solid lubrication coating layer may be applied either to a washer or directly to the screw ring.
