Abstract: A container for a disk having a central opening includes a base having a pedestal for holding the disk, a hingedly connected lid, and a laterally spaced pair of latches for locking the container closed. Also disclosed are interior partitions of the base and lid that have edgewise proximal engagement, a disk presser structure for holding edge extremities of the disk in place during mishandling of the container, and rib members that block entry of a destructive blade in an endwise path through regions of facing contact adjacent to living hinges of the container.

Abstract: A DVD disk case includes a hook connected to its base or lid and having an open position for clearing an outer disk perimeter during insertion and removal of the disk, and a closed position for blocking the removal of the disk. The hook opens when the lid is open, and the hook closes for securing the disk on a pedestal hub structure of the case when the lid is closed, to provide security by preventing removal of the disk from the case when the lid is proximately closed. The hook can project from the base, a lock projecting from the lid to displace the hook inwardly as the lid is move to its closed position. The hook can also include an inwardly extending lid tab of the lid and/or a projecting rib of a spine portion of the case.

Abstract: A case for holding two compact discs including first and second cover parts pivotally connected together so that they can be pivoted between a closed position facing each other and an open position and characterized by a tray comprising a planar body portion and an anchor portion, the tray body portion including an annular rosette of fingers on each side thereof for releasably securing a compact disc thereto, the tray body and the tray anchor being pivotally connected together and the tray anchor being secured to one of the cover parts. As a result, when the cover parts are pivoted to an open position the tray body can be pivoted about the tray anchor to facilitate installation and removal of compact discs from both sides of the tray body. The separate tray body and anchor portions together with the nature of the pivotal connection therebetween provide a structure which is strong and long-lasting and which is compatible with automated assembly techniques.
