Abstract:
A storage container for an item of recorded media includes a centrally disposed hub surrounded by and spaced from an outer wall. The hub includes a pair of resilient arms that cooperate to loosely but securely retain an item of recorded media having a centrally disposed inner hole. The hub includes a first support platform that includes a plurality of raised bumps that essentially frictionlessly support the item of recorded media from below. The outer wall includes a second support platform that also includes a plurality of bumps that supports the item of recorded media from below about its outer periphery. The outer wall also includes a blocking wall that extends above the outer edge to prevent the user from grasping the outer edge of the item of recorded media. The outer wall further contains a finger access hole that extends through the blocking wall that allows the user to grab the edge of the item of recorded media in a selected position that is aligned with the arms of the hub. The arms of the hub are resiliently cantilevered from the first support platform. One arm includes a push button that allows a user to depress the arm and move it out of the way of the item of recorded media as it is being removed from the hub.
Abstract:
A hub for holding a disc-shaped item of recorded media includes a plurality of holding arms that engage the central opening of the disc-shaped item of recorded media to hold the item in a holding position. The hub also includes lifting arms that engage the inner lower edge of the disc-shaped item of recorded media to force the item upwardly with respect to the holding arms. The holding arms and lifting arms extend from opposite portions of a base member which may be in the form of a circular outer wall.
Abstract:
A diskette storage box for audio-visual or computer media disks includes a front cover and a rear cover having a disk retaining mechanism that includes plural first surfaces that extend upward from the rear cover and inward towards a center position aligned with a center of the disk. The disk retaining mechanism includes a set of riser tabs that extend up from the first surfaces and each riser tab includes a respective retaining tab that retains the disk. The disk retaining mechanism also includes a riser tabs limiting device that is coupled to the riser tabs and that limits movement of riser tabs while being depressed for releasing a retained disk.
Abstract:
A carrier for securely retaining one or more objects is provided, cut and scored from a unitary blank of paperboard or similar foldable sheet material so that it can be folded into two overlying panels and then manually fastened so that one panel is characteristically bowed away from the other to form an interior space. This bowed panel has at least one u-shaped mouth opening into this interior space, cut through the bowed panel face and large enough to allow an object to be loosely inserted through it with one-hand and retained therein for storage or transport. This carrier can then be integrated into the design of another product. Also, the carrier can be attached to the surface of selected articles with an adhesive strip applied to the back of the carrier or by using a standard pronged fastener that extends through openings provided in the carrier's back panel or by some other suitable attachment device. Additionally, a top panel, a cover panel and a cover fastening tab can be provided to cooperatively overlie the front of the carrier and further secure the portion of the object that extends from the mouth opening across both its face and top sections thereby assuring secure storage and transport without regard to the carrier's physical orientation.
Abstract:
A single sheet of non-woven material is provided with sufficient strength and durability to store one or more compact discs without the necessity of laminating or otherwise interconnecting the non-woven sheet to a backing sheet or other materials for strength. The single sheet of non-woven material is positioned opposite the playing surfaces of the compact disc to provide a non-scratching, protective surface and to reduce the costs associated with manufacturing the sleeves used to store the CDs.
Abstract:
A MD, CD and magnetic disk box structure includes a connecting plate having a first side provided with a first box, and a second side provided with a second box. The first box has a peripheral face having a determined height, and the second box has a peripheral face having a determined height, so that the fist box and the second box may be combined to form a closed state.
Abstract:
A locking device for a disc retaining hub includes a base and a head that lock together over the hub to lock a disc on the hub until a portion of the locking device is destroyed. The head or the base of the locking device includes locking fingers that allow the head and base to lock together in a one-way snap fit connection. The locking mechanism may also cooperate with the disc retaining hub to lock itself to the hub. The locking mechanism prevents the disc from being removed from the hub until the locking mechanism is destroyed by the user.
Abstract:
The holder for an optical disc comprises a sheet of plastic material deformed to include a flat generally circular or annular portion having an outer circular edge and an inner circular edge; an at least partially annular first flange portion depending from the outer circular edge a short distance to an inwardly extending first detent formation and an at least partially annular second flange portion depending from the inner circular edge a short distance to an outwardly extending second detent formation, the holder being adapted to receive an optical disc against the flat circular portion and between the first and second flange portions and held in that location by the first and second detent formations.
Abstract:
A storage case is comprised of a case main body, a cover, a rotating means and a tilt means. The case main body has a bottom plate, the front plate, a back plate, a right plate and a left plate which are arranged so that the front, back, right and left plates surround four sides of the bottom plate. The cover is installed to the case main body so as to open and close an opening of the case main body. The rotating means swingably and slidably connects the cover with the case main body. The rotating means has a rotation shaft installed to the cover and a bearing portion installed to the case main body. The bearing portion is formed into an elongate groove extending in a vertical direction of the case main body. The front plate is tilted forward by the tilt means.
Abstract:
An anti-pilferage device for securing an optical disc within an optical disc case. The anti-pilferage device functions as a secondary engagement device to engage an optical disc which has been demounted from the mounting hub of the optical disc case.
