Abstract:
A damping unit includes a cylinder which is filled with a damping fluid and in which a piston rod is guided, the piston rod associated with a bottom surface which has at least one axial through-hole which defines an effective flow cross section for the damping fluid; wherein the piston rod includes: a sleeve element which is fixed on the piston rod in the axial direction; a piston bottom element which is supported on the piston rod so as to be axially slidable and includes the bottom surface; a resilient element; and a termination element which is fixed on the piston rod in the axial direction and forms an indirect or direct stop for the piston bottom element in the insertion direction of the piston rod.
Abstract:
A lockable piston-cylinder unit having a cylinder that is closed at both ends and filled with pressurized fluid and in which a piston that is sealed relative to the inner wall of the cylinder is displaceably guided. The piston divides the interior of the cylinder into a first working chamber and a second working chamber. A piston rod is arranged at the piston and is guided out of the cylinder 1 through one of the working chambers and through a guiding and sealing unit which closes the one end of the cylinder.
Abstract:
A piston is guided in an axially displaceable manner sealed off from a closed cylinder via an annular seal radially surrounding it, and divides the cylinder interior into a working space near the piston rod and a working space away from the piston rod. The two working spaces are filled with a hydraulic fluid. The piston has a one-sided piston rod which extends through the working space near the piston rod and is guided in a sealed manner to the outside through an end closing wall of the cylinder. A first valve can be opened under high pressure to connect the working space away from the piston rod to the working space near the piston rod. A second valve can be opened under high pressure to connect the working space near the piston rod to the working space away from the piston rod. A volume-equalizing chamber for receiving the amount displaced from the working space away from the piston rod, which is greater than the amount displaced from the working space near the piston rod. The volume-equalizing chamber is arranged in the piston, and the working space away from the piston rod can be connected to the volume-equalizing chamber via the first valve and the working space near the piston rod can be connected to it via the second valve. The volume-equalizing chamber can be connected to the working space away from the piston rod via a first nonreturn valve and can be connected to the working space near the piston rod via a second nonreturn valve.
Abstract:
A furniture pillar includes an upright tube and a guide bushing which is inserted into one end of the upright tube and has an inner circumferential surface which is a guide for a supporting tube of the furniture pillar. The guide bushing has a radially inner guide tube, the tube passage of which forms a guide. An annular insertion region extends radially outwards on an end region of the guide tube and is inserted with its outer circumferential surface into the upright tube. A plurality of circumferentially spaced ribs of the guide bushing adjoin the annular insertion region axially, and extend radially outwards from the guide tube to outer end surfaces which bear against the inner wall of the upright tube, forming open chambers between them towards the side facing away from the annular insertion region. The upright tube has a color coating which completely covers its outer circumferential surface. Continuous openings pass from the chambers through the guide tube to the interior of the guide tube.
Abstract:
A catch for two objects moveable in relation to one another, in particular a door catch, includes a cylinder, which is operatively connected to a first object, a friction surface carrier, which is operatively connected to a second object, a friction element for creating a frictional grip between the cylinder and the friction surface carrier through an energy input. The friction element being connected to an electrical voltage supply device, wherein a change in the volume of the friction element, which constitutes an actuating movement of the friction element in relation to the friction surface, occurs as a function of the voltage applied to the friction element.
Abstract:
Piston-cylinder assembly, in particular gas spring, comprising a cylinder as a first structural unit, in which a piston rod is arranged in an axially movable manner as a second structural unit. An adjusting device exerting an adjusting force includes an acturator and a force-transmitting means operatively connected to the piston-cylinder assembly, the force-transmitting means engaging concentrically on one of the two structural units of the piston-cylinder assembly.
Abstract:
A length-adjustable column for chairs or the like comprises an upright tube with a longitudinal axis and a piston-and-cylinder unit radially supported and displaceably guided in the direction of the longitudinal axis. A lengthwise end of the piston-and-cylinder unit is locked by means of an axial bearing on a base plate of the upright tube in the axial direction. For this purpose, the axial bearing is axially fixed to the lengthwise end of the piston-and-cylinder unit. The axial bearing has at least two locking arms which lock it to the base plate of the upright tube, and a securing bolt which is pushed by the piston-and-cylinder unit between the locking arms to secure the locking.
Abstract:
A stool or like body supporting device having a seat and a back, a first pneumatically expandable column supporting the seat on a base, and a second such column holding the back in a desired angular relationship to the seat is equipped with a single operating lever pivotally mounted on the seat for alternative engagement with the release pins of the two columns so that a user may adjust both the height of the seat and the slope of the back while manipulating the single lever.
Abstract:
Metered increments of a gas under superatmospheric pressure are bled from a container equipped with a nipple and a valve in the nipple normally closed by the gas pressure in the container into a vessel equipped with a receptacle matching the nipple and a rod which can be shifted manually into a bleeding position in which it enters the receptacle and the nipple therein to open the valve and to admit gas to the vessel cavity through the receptacle while another opening, leading from the cavity to the ambient atmosphere, is sealed by a valve ring on the rod. Gas pressure in the cavity tends to move the rod from its bleeding position outward of the receptacle into a venting position in which it permits the valve on the container to close, and the valve ring permits compressed gas to be vented to the atmosphere from the vessel cavity.
