    Abstract: A damper device for providing a braking force includes a cylinder member having an inner wall, and a piston member slidably disposed in the cylinder member, the braking force being generated by movement or relative movement of the piston member. The piston member includes a seal member having an attachment base, and a lip portion extending from the attachment base and contacting the inner wall of the cylinder member, and a bending regulation portion assembled with the seal member for regulating an outer surface of the attachment base of the seal member.

    Abstract: An intermediate cylinder is disposed between an outer cylinder and an inner cylinder. The intermediate cylinder forms a passage between the inner cylinder and itself, through which a hydraulic fluid as an electrorheological fluid flows. The intermediate cylinder is supplied (applied) with a voltage through an electrode connector. The intermediate cylinder includes a ring member. The ring member is provided with an extending portion which extends toward the outer cylinder. The extending portion of the ring member is inserted with an electrode pin as an imparting unit for imparting a voltage to the intermediate cylinder.

    Abstract: In a shock absorber, an outer case made of resin is disposed so as to cover an inner case made of metal, and the outer case forms a reservoir chamber for storing the hydraulic fluid between the outer case and the inner case. The outer case is supported by the inner case via protrusions, which are formed on either one of the outer peripheral surface of the inner case and the inner peripheral surface of the outer case so as to protrude toward and abut the other one of the outer peripheral surface of the inner case and the inner peripheral surface of the outer case.
