Abstract:
A mobile device, method and computer program product are provided for displaying a predefined subset of images captured on a display screen of a mobile device, thus eliminating the need to access a gallery, or image storage, application installed on the mobile device and, in some instances, open the mobile device, in order to view recently captured images. In particular, a user is able to define the subset of the images to be displayed as, for example, all images taken within the last day, week, month or even year, or all images taken at a certain location or at the location corresponding with the most recently captured image. Depending upon how the user has defined the subset, the mobile device will automatically update the subset of images displayed based upon the occurrence of various events (e.g., where the oldest picture of the subset was taken more than one day ago).
Abstract:
An apparatus, method, computer program and user interface wherein the apparatus includes a touch sensitive display; and a controller; wherein the apparatus has a restricted mode of operation in which user access to at least some functions of the apparatus is prevented and the touch sensitive display is configured to detect a user input while the apparatus is in the restricted mode of operation wherein the user input comprises actuation of a plurality of points of the touch sensitive display; and the controller is configured, in response to the detection of the user input including actuation of a plurality of points of the touch sensitive display, to control the apparatus to present information without exiting the restricted mode of operation of the apparatus.
Abstract:
Systems, apparatuses and methods for enhancing the utilization of distance measuring devices using electronic communication devices. A route(s) presentable via a map or map segment may be presented via a mobile device. A distance walked, jogged, or otherwise traveled by a user of the mobile device can be determined using a distance measuring device, such as a step counter. The resulting distance traveled is associated with the presented route to indicate an approximate location of the user on the presented route. The route may be any imaginary or virtual route, whereby the user's actual distance traveled on his/her actual route is depicted on the map/map segment as traveling on the virtual route. Communication tools allow data to be obtained, messages to be communicated, and other services to be performed at certain times and/or in connection with reached locations along the route.
Abstract:
A telecommunication system comprising a mobile telecommunication network and a mobile communication apparatus arranged to communicate with said mobile telecommunication network is disclosed. The mobile communication apparatus comprises a controller, and is associated with a first and a second display, wherein said controller is arranged to control said first display to view a first set of information and said second display to view a second set of information. A method for providing messages in the telecommunication system is also disclosed. The method comprises sending a message from said mobile telecommunication network to said mobile communication apparatus; receiving said message by said mobile communication apparatus; determining if one of said first and second displays is currently actively used; assigning said message information to the one of said first or second display not currently actively used to avoid interruption of an active session; and viewing said message information on said assigned display. A method for controlling the mobile communication apparatus, comprising viewing on said first display a first set of information, and viewing on said second display a second set of information, is also disclosed.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for routing audio for audio-video recordings allow a user to record desired audio with captured video at the time the video is being captured. Audio from one or more sources may be routed to the video capture application and recorded with the video. In one or more examples, audio may be routed from another application, e.g., an audio playback application, running on the same device as the video capture application. In another example, audio may be received from a remote device through a wireless connection. Multiple streams of audio content may be mixed together prior to storing with video. The audio, upon reception, may then be routed to the video capture application for recordation. An audio progression bar may also be provided to indicate duration and elapsed time information associated with the audio being recorded.

Abstract:
This invention relates to a mobile communications device and a method for controlling a menu on a mobile communications device having a display with an idle mode background image. The method comprises receiving a user input from a control device, relating the user input to an area of said display, determining an application which is linked to said area such that said application is executed in response to the selection of said area, and superposing an application icon associated with said application over at least a part of said idle mode background image.
Abstract:
The specification and drawings present a new method, apparatus and software product for pictorial identification of a communication event using speech or text recognition in an electronic device. The communication can be (but is not limited to) a telephone call, an electronic mail message, MMS, SMS, an instant message, etc. Words from the communication event are identified using the speech or text recognition by the electronic device and at least one picture out of a library of reference pictures is identified by comparing the identified words with the key picture words using a predetermined criterion. Color background of the identified standard picture can be also identified using the identified words and a further predetermined criterion. The identified picture can be displayed during the communications event or can be stored so the user can identify the topic of the communication event later on.
Abstract:
A portable apparatus including a controller, and being associated with a first display and a second display, wherein the controller is arranged to control the first display to view a first set of information and the second display to, simultaneously, view a second set of information, wherein the first set of information and the second set of information have different content; and wherein the first display is mounted on a first body, the body having a longitudinal plane; and the second display is constructed in a second body, and wherein the second body is attached to the first body for rotational movement about an axis perpendicular to the longitudinal plane of the first body.
Abstract:
A privacy stamp for preventing the automatic display of private data items stored in a memory of a mobile telecommunications apparatus. The telecommunications apparatus is provided with user operable means to selectively associate a privacy stamp with the stored data items such that a processor prevents the data items associated with the privacy stamp from being automatically displayed on a user interface.
