Abstract:
In a method for representation of medical image information on a display medium data sets from different medical examinations are supplied to various information channels of a 3D monitor. Various superimpositions of the data sets are displayed to an observer dependent on the viewing angle. The observer thus has simultaneous access to information from the various medical examinations, which makes the diagnosis easier for him or her.
Abstract:
A patient transportation system includes a patient transportation apparatus. The patient transportation apparatus is configured for docking to a medical device and includes a plurality of wheels. The patient transportation apparatus also includes a handle unit that may be moved in a plurality of positions for controlling the patient transportation apparatus. The patient transportation apparatus also includes a coupling unit for connecting the plurality of wheels to the handle unit and for changing a wheel position of at least one wheel of the plurality of wheels in accordance with a position of the movable handle unit.
Abstract:
A contour collimator and an adaptive filter as well as an associated method for adjusting a contour of a ray path of x-ray radiation are provided. The contour collimator and the adaptive filter include fluid impermeable for x-ray radiation and a number of electroactive polymer elements actively connected to the fluid. On application of an electrical voltage to the electroactive polymer elements, an aperture forming the contour in the fluid is formed.
Abstract:
A patient transportation system includes: a patient transportation device configured to dock with a medical instrument, the patient transportation device having a plurality of wheels; a registration apparatus configured to register information; and a control unit configured to change at least one wheel position of at least one wheel of the plurality of wheels based on information registered by the registration apparatus. The system may be used to assist operating staff when the patient transportation device approaches the medical instrument.
Abstract:
A method for facilitating a stateless transmission of data between data sources and client devices may be provided. A message is received from each of the data sources. The message includes data obtained by the respective data source and data indicative of a destination address for the data. The destination address is associated with a client device of the client devices. For each message, the data is stored based on the destination address for the data. A request for data is received from one of the client devices. The request includes data indicative of an address associated with the one of the plurality of client devices. When the address associated with the one of the plurality of client devices corresponds to the destination address for any of the stored data, the stored data with the corresponding destination address is transmitted to the one of the client devices.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system to control and optimize clinical pathways of a plurality of patients within a medical facility as well as across several medical facilities. The method of controlling and optimizing pathways uses real-time localization devices for patients, resources, such as clinical images and employees of the medical facility (e.g. a service technician, a senior consultant or the like). Based on the local position of patients, staff members and/or resources, the system proposes a medical system that generates clinical pathways for patients, is adapted to change clinical pathways and to provide schedules for patients as well as the use of resources. The invention provides further means of real-time information of patients about changes in their schedule. The method provided enables a medical facility to streamline their processes and to increase patient throughput.
Abstract:
In a method for representation of medical image information on a display medium an image representation parameter is varied dependent on the position of the observer. Superimpositions of data sets from different medical examinations are thereby displayed. The observer thus has simultaneous access to information from the medical examinations, which makes the diagnosis easier for him or her.
Abstract:
An MR tomography apparatus has a system for contrast optimization of MRT images, with: an input unit for measurement parameters such as, for example, TR, TE, FOV, matrix size, flip angle, . . . etc. a unit for establishment of the anatomical area to be examined in the examination subject; a unit for combination of a plurality of MRT images acquired with various measurement parameters; and a unit for visualization and generation of a DICOM header for selected MRT image combinations. The tomography apparatus also has a storage unit in which predetermined experiential values for parameters of equations for combination of a number of various MRT images are stored with regard to a number of selectable anatomical areas of an examination subject; and an acquisition unit for generation of MRT images under selective consideration of the experiential values for measurement parameters that are stored for the anatomical structure to be examined.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for supporting an examination by means of an imaging diagnostic device. An examination mode is first selected by a user. At least one partial view of an examination object is subsequently generated and compared with a stored standard view, on which at least one accessory required for the examination mode is displayed. The comparison checks whether the at least one accessory is present on the partial view of the examination object. The result of the comparison is indicated to the user to ensure that the necessary accessories are present at a beginning of an actual examination even with a plurality of possible measuring methods.
Abstract:
A system and method for optimizing status of a care plan is described, the method including defining a care plan as worksteps associated by a rule-based process. Historical data is collected for a plurality of worksteps for such attributes as diagnosis, clinical outcome and cost. The data may be analyzed by data mining techniques so as to discover the optimum relationships between the patient symptoms, the worksteps and a success criteria. The success criteria may include correct diagnosis, equipment use efficiency, cost, and successful clinical outcome. The rule-based process may be modified to take account of the optimum relationships. A patient presenting with a constellation of symptoms may have the symptoms compared with care plans success ranking to determine an optimum care plan.
